EE Community General Funds / EE Piggy Bank

Hi. There should be a general pot of gold that a few trusted members of the community manage. This could be a PayPal account, for example.

People would donate to this piggy bank and other users would be allowed to dip into it if they needed money for, say, Builder's Club, or an extra massive world or something.

Just an idea. Not sure how we'd secure it though because I don't think we trust anyone enough to keep hold of our money

This seems more of a personal/friends thing than a community thing imo...
I'm aware this happens elsewhere but it just doesn't sit well with me.

Eh, I see this (almost) working with energy, but not with paypal. It just takes one person to take all the money.

The intention sounds good and nice but too naive, who in his right mind would be open enough to trust such an account managed by strangers for strangers? it's super hard to manage an account between just two people, let alone multiple. It's a nice idea but also crazy

lmao that's not going to work. nice idea, but no.

It's like a take a penny/give a penny thing but you just know someone's going to be like, "yeah, i need ALL OF THESE PENNIES." Especially when new things are released.

I think it's just easier to donate or just keep the money yourself, while you try to help others, those others might help themselves more than you.

Many other forums have donations up as well as staff taking care of bills. I suppose that's taken care of in beta, BC, etc. but I don't know.
