Forums provide a cleaner way of chatting with others and giving suggestions. Realtime/ingame chat is for more quick chatting with friends in a world, and can get quite "intrusive" at times.

I have a theory that the median age of the average forum user is statistically higher than the average EE in game player, even accounting overlap.

Lots of the time most of the lobby is filled with 'Free Magic' worlds and your staple minigame worlds, which both get old very quickly. It's more fun to talk of important updates, bugs, ideas, world creations, etc. than play the former levels.

Forums is used for really serious discussions, suggestions and other things. Try just playing Everybody Edits without going to forums, you'll miss so much things.

I tend to like the forums more than the actual game due to the same reasons some of the above people mentioned, such as more serious discussions and whatnot. It can be more fun than the games, moreso if you partake in the forum games. All in all, I just like writing, so I come here.
