Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

My dad payed 5 bucks to get me beta last year.. Isn't that the same as buying chat minus the free gems included?
You should get chat as soon as you buy something via PayPal so they know a parent or guardian has paid for you to get gems or other accessories..
Who's with me?
Lets just hope Chris or Julian sees this..

Does it matter, chat is only 1p, the reason for that is so kids can't get chat.
Chat actually costs 3 bucks now, but I've already got my parents to buy me Beta via PayPal isn't that pretty much the same thing as enabling chat?

For some greedy reason they made it cost $3.00 now. **** move, am I right?

You're absolutley right
If you haven't noticed, you need to be at a certain age to get chat. (+13)
However, Beta, is free for everyone.
Also, if you get both at once, EE loses money.

Hopperkk it's 1 cent or watever it was.
That's not expensive seriously...

Read the posts above. The chat costs $3 already.
Well, the cents would have been taken out as fees had they been >$0.10.
Making chat cost $3.00 is ridiculous, the excuse given is insensible.
Why not make chat free, like EVERY OTHER KIDS' GAMES does?

Well remember last Christmas when RPGMASTER2000 released the note blocks? Well after that, there were no more update for like the next 5 months. They probably raised the chat to pay for the money they lost during that time, but now they don`t feel like changing it. Boom. so now it`s officially 3 dollars now.

Those delays happened all the time. I think MrShoe did that just for money.
Because, being 1 cent, they lost I think 2 cents every time someone paid for it.
$3 is a bit much though, don't you think?
They could have these options in the shop:
Beta+chat $10
Beta $10
Chat $3
Once the beta or chat is bought by itself, the beta+chat option disappears. If beta+chat is bought, the beta and chat options disappear.

Do you mean
Ee loses money, as in they have less money than before the transaction?
Ee will gain less money compared with selling each separately?
Ee has an additional expense when selling two items under a single package?
In the case of the last two, I do not think either is a problem. The first one is a problem but I highly doubt that is what you meant.

Ok I have no idea what you are talking about.
Let me break it down for you.
If someone wants to buy chat and Beta, they have to buy it separately, EE gains 13 dollars.
Now, if they use a Beta+chat package, EE gains 10 dollars.
Hooray, EE just lost 3 dollars.

I do not think that should be a problem. I think the price for chat only rose because it was costly for ee, but the expense from people buying chat won't exist anymore if people buy chat with beta, at least I don't think it will.

Well, I'm just saying it's a valid point why they would not do it.

But 10 dollars is still a damn good profit per person......

Chat:
We have had some issues that people found it ?fishy? to be paying 1 cent for something. Also PayPal has sometimes contacted us suspecting fraud. So from now on, to enable chat you have to pay 3 dollars, but will be given 50 gems (which would normally cost 5 dollars). We hope this new deal works out better for everyone.
Sorry to jump in. This was posted on the blog on August 17th 2012 and I hope it helps to clear things up.

This topic is pointless!!!!!!
Chat cost's $ So that they know that 1 your parents approve of you chatting 2 your over 18
If you buy chat and 50 gems and get beta your only paying $8
/Gametester1000
You can get beta free using super rewards, so a 9 year old could theoretically get enough gems from super rewards then get really scared by someone and their parents sue EE and the game gets shut down. Horrible idea.

A parent would sue EE for their kid getting scared? That could be likely with parents these days, but I highly doubt they'd win that case. It's not EE's problem that these parents weren't watching their kids, otherwise every ??rn site/mature site would end up being shut down if some parent saw their kid on it and sued the owner of those websites.
Anyway, to the original poster, I do think that it's a good idea that chat would come with beta. The original point of buying chat was to prove that you were either old enough to have a credit/debit card and pay yourself, or that a parent approved of it and did it for you. But, I'm pretty sure that the reason chat and beta are separated, would be because the parents might approve of putting money into the game, but still not approve of you being able to talk to others.
Chat costing $3 is a bit money hungry now, though. The penny could've still done it.
If chat could be bought with gems, everyone would have it. (Through super rewards)
Kongregate:
1. Buy a kreds gift card at gamestop with cash (Anyone can do this) and transfer the kreds into gems. Buy chat.
2. Do the super rewards-type-thing on Kongregate, which for me, gave around 200 gems. Buy chat.
Also, at least for me, 3$ is nothing. And I agree with Julian in that paranoid parents may feel more secure.
Additionally, their will be less chat shared accounts. Why would someone waste 3$ just to see their account get banned?
Please reply to this.
Hmm, let's see....
Editors note: Stop reading after the 50% discount part, the rest is sort of nonsense.
If beta costs $10, and chat costs $3, mixing them together should be around $11.50 since chat would just be free if it was included in a beta package worth $10, and half of $3 is $1.50, giving a 50% discount on the chat, and there are 50 states in the U.S.A., and the U.S.A. is one country, and there are about 23 countries in North America, and North America is a continent, and there are 7 continents, and 50 x 1 x 23 x 1 x 7 = 8050, the correct price of chat should be around $8,050. Hope this helps.

Didn't think about the shared part. That would be a decent reason to make it cost more than a penny.
