At first I would say this is a useless topic. Are you sure a blue coin wasn't next/close to a gold coin?

Well it's certainly not impossible.

EE's client could have bugged to send gold coin messages upon picking up blue coins, rather this type of bug would be done by invalidly loading, and since it'd most likely corrupt the internal structure, I'd give this a very implausible stance.

Most likely you accidentally a gold coin and hadn't realized it, or MrShoe made (yet) another mistake whilst coding the server.

I somewhat believe it, due to me getting a magic before (way back) from a blue coin only level.

It is probably a bug though.

How can you have proof, if you didn't screenshot it, and left the map?

A pic wouldn't be valid proof, due to some people being wizards at photoshop.
