Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: About Everybody Edits accounts...

Too complicated? Really? I want to hear what he requires to happen for this to be a successful move.
From my database knowledge, all he has to do is copy the account fields and copy them to the other database.
How is that complicated? It's a rather easy concept, unless he has some 'tard way of transferring them.

I think that making an account moving service would be just as easy as making a HTML 'Password Retrieval' service.

Re: About Everybody Edits accounts...

Instead of manually transferring the data, why not make a cash-in-code sort of thing?
What you do:
A:
You press the button, the game asks for email and password for new account, then you get an email with a code, you go on EE website and put in the email/pw/code, BAM! Old account gone, new account is there!
B:
You press the button, then game gives you a code, then you go on EE website and enter the code/new email address and password, finally, you're done.
What happens:
A:
You press the button, the game asks for email/pw for new account, then after you press that, your account profile on AG/KG/FB is stored in an archive with a code assigned to it, the server sends you an email with the code, you go on the normal website, enter the email/pw/code, the game deletes the OLD account, then makes a NEW account with the same name and then applies the old account's stuff on it. Done. You can normally log in with email/pw.
B:
You press the button, the game instantly archives your account data (blocks and worlds and stuff) and gives you a code, you go on EE site, enter the (new)email/pw/code, the game deletes old account and creates new account and applies the archived data onto it, done.

This is a little complex.

It would require making an exact replica of the account that connects using facebook and also require editing the database quite a bit.
Here's basically what would need to be done:

create new account on main site
           switch facebook/main accounts' usernames.
add things to the new account that the old account has
remove items on fb account (so they wouldn't essentially have free stuff)
world content would be lost/have to be manually put back together, but at least they'd have a main site account, I would think. I don't know.

So, is it possible to do this, or would it be too difficult/time consuming to be feasible, considering there's a lot of people who want to have a main account but have a facebook one? I'd suggest having a few volunteers help, but that's quite laughable.

Hi Zoey

Thank you for writing to me.
I know that many people are upset about the facebook login, but as you probably already know, this is not our decision. This also means that the solution you suggest is against the terms and conditions of Facebook, so we can't convert accounts.
So it is not an technical issue.

Not sure if autoreply or just vague answer.
But okay whatever looks like we're royally screwed.

Re: About Everybody Edits accounts...

lol. they can change it - it only not allows to "share the same app ID with desktop web games off of Facebook.com. ", but they can transfer accs.... omhg,
another solution would be to give the people ca. 6k free gems, wich have a facebook account as a gift code, everyone would be happy //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink and if they had beta & chat on fb - a beta and chat gift code, i mean they bought it common. (maybe make a item to gift option, (only once))...
after a item got gifted, it will be deleted on the normal account...
