Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

If they're not Magic Coins, why not magic stars?

Because coins don't look like stars and they come from coins.

How about we mash the two together and get Woot Coins or something?

OK, try with... Super Coins.

How about woots get reset each week?

I know this is rather tacky and unprofessional, but I'd rather just have the whole "woot" idea scrapped. Personally, the thought of LOSING earned "woots" (or whatever) after getting them just seems? quite pathetic. Honestly, the game seems more like its getting set up for noob players who are in the play-the-game-everyday phase while some of us are in the watch-the-game-degrade-and-become-less-fun phase. I for one and am in the latter; because, of the many updates. Mainly the ones that are noobish. I guess, MrShoe really needs to slow down on the game's updates and just add new physics.

Or, ya know, bring RPG back?!

True, the woot system is far from perfect, but I don't understand why everyone feels EE is going downhill.

Now I'm noticing that the levels at the top are the same as yesterday.

There needs to be a way to kick start a level!

What if there was a level potion that made your level go on top for maybe like 5 minutes? Your magic class would have to be >10, to make it fair. The potion would be 250 energy.

It really doesn't seem like the woot system was thought out very well. The levels that have the most woots will always have the most woots because they're always on top of the list, so people go in and play them and give them more woots. There's no real way for lesser known levels to break through. Three of the top levels are Mr. Shoe's levels for crying out loud. Of course people are going to keep wooting those up.

Or how about it's on top for the next "x" amount of people who refresh the lobby?
Also there would have to be a waiting line so that there's not 50 worlds using that potion.

That wouldn't work. People would use a potion, wait, get board, then leave. And then what happens? We have wasted potions, or we have 'stickied' levels, for say, with no one in them.

NR2001 wrote:

That's way not enough money. A lot of people have more than 250 energy, so a person with 250 energy would basically have 14 by the end of the week. That's an hour and 20 minutes, if you're using them straight in a row. Who would want stairs at the top of the list for that long? And limits wouldn't work, either. They could have the max, and keep using them, then buy more.

Here's what I think should happen:

If we have the potions at all, they should be at 1,000 energy per bottle. That would prevent spam. And you could have max 7-10. Also, the more potions you use at once, the better chance you'll get at the top. Eg: someone uses 2 potions, and their level is under the person's who used 3 potions. Following?

But anyways, we just need to make the woot system a sub-thing. You can order the lists by people or popularity(woots)- people by default.
What we have is votes- just simple votes. You can vote a level up or down, but maybe only after x amount of time or something(prevents dislike trolls). And we could have another tab- a Featured tab. People who have x amt. of likes for x amt. of time get in featured. Featured can change daily or weekly, but daily would be a better choice. To like/dislike, you have to have magic >4, to prevent the register-like-repeat thing.

There's my input on these stupid woots.

Re: Official "Woot / Magic System" Discussion Thread

The primary flaw with woots is the ranking. As previously mentioned, ranking reinforces ranking as the most visible levels get the most woots. However, this is similar to the previous ranking by number of plays. That also has the same flaw and similar issues of play-garnering (free code, etc.).

The fundamental issue seems to players finding levels they will like. There is a side issue of ranking levels, or rather, rewarding good levels with visibility and making bad levels not as visible.

The game needs an influx of new players to survive, and they will invariably be noobs. Levels they like are, in general, different from levels pros like. They both need to find the levels that are right for them, and neither audience should be punished.

I'd like to see a sorting algorithm based on personal usage: what levels you've wooted, what levels your friends have wooted, as well as what levels you've anti-wooted, and so on. It's certainly more complex than what we currently have, but if you're going to have a rating system, that rating system is going to tend to reward the most populist levels. A simpler approach would be opting into tiers of rating groups, perhaps by magic class, or better, by friend groups.

that wouldn`t really work, because alot of people, take me as an example, have haters that would un-woot your levels just to ruin your day.
Besides, the woot system is fine, it`s the fact that it was started too early and was fully released to late. So now all the top levels have been in the same place for that past 2 or 3 days that we`ve had it. So now, EE isn`t circulating as it should be.
Players are making levels.
The levels aren`t explored much because it was 0 woots anyways
players get bored from being at the bottom of the list with little to no plays
Players quit EE

And that`s exactly what`s going on.
I would prefer that MrShoe simply adds a class to each level depending on how many woots are in it instead of organizing the whole thing by wots itself. THEN we can go back to the simple goes and plays. Also that you can search a specific class of levels to your liking. So it`s more fair to everyone on EE, whether they`re pro or nooby

Yeah, that makes more sense.
You can only have 1 person using said potion at a time.

If we have many people using the potion at one time, then it's like the new normal thing to see levels.

I actually was thinking of changing the energy amount to something extreme.
5000 Energy? Limit of 1 potion only, and you can't attempt to buy with energy/gems for at least 1 week.
Or: you could make the cost a few magic classes. Magic class 12 minus 5-7 classes?

Dang it Arceus, you said that before I could.

The only thing I don't find favor in about this is that the default listing is woots. Oh and there's no free worlds listing, but, who plays those anymore

The stuff that happend in EE with the woot update has broken the game quite a bit, it would be awesome if Julian would be able to do some fixing in the NEAR future...
