Lava should kill you, BUT NOT INSTANTLY. It would show a little gray clock near your smiley, and after five seconds, if still in lava, you die. For every second you go out of the lava, the timer goes back up two seconds. I can picture challenges involving hitting all the 'air bubbles' on your way to the bottom of the magma.

Nah, i think your smiley should slowly turn dark, then black, then you disinigrate (sp?).     Imagine, several "burn ward" smilies around a map.

But I would have no reason to buy lava when I have spikes... Block packs are worth it due to the fact that you get infinite. I'm not going to buy lava just because it looks cool. There are lava levels right now that use spikes.
