Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

The cost of spikes

The cost of spikes is too damn high. Only 10 spikes for 1000 energy? That's good for about a third of a minigame! I demand a recount!

Re: The cost of spikes

MrShoe probably did that to force people to buy the Builders' Club. And he said that lava will come to EE too, so if spikes are a limited item, then lava will be too.

He just wants money.

I do want MrShoe to decrease the amount of energy needed to obtain 10 spikes.   :/

Re: The cost of spikes

I can't even think about this forum being more mature than Kong Community anymore.

Two Portal = 625 x 2 = 1250
A Checkpoint & a Spike = 250 + (1000/10) = 250 + 100 = 350

Now you have a reason to play the game and enjoy the generous 70% discount.

Re: The cost of spikes

You also get the same amount of coin doors, gates, switches, time doors. OMG, you guessed it, same price too. Then why the hell should spikes be cheaper?

Yeahh..
It's too high. Spikes are like usually through out the whole world in some games..
But MrShoe just made the spikes like portals, so it would be easier for some nubs to use them..
The portal physics are kind of complicated for some people. So he made an easier one.

It isn't anymore, which is why I left the forums for almost 2 months, I think.   I might end up leaving again..

Exactly what I was trying to tell others about the price.   We get a substitute for death portals, almost for a quarter of the price, and people complain.   People complain about anything about this game.   People just love to hate.   They always try to find a reason to hate something even if it's something like this: a discount.

Is EE all some people here do?   You get a little more than 4000 energy a week.   Go do some other things.   You get enough energy for 40 spikes a week.   Take a break from the game.   Get on a few minutes a day just to spend energy.   When you get back into the game you'll have more than you need.   Is it that horrible to spend a few days working on spikes than the other blocks packs, which are all nearly identical besides for graphic?   You can also play levels.   I doubt everyone here builds levels and only build levels.   if you think spikes are too expensive, then go build a level using portals instead and calculate the price for that.   Play other levels while working on your spikes and checkpoints.. the game gets boring when you can get everything so damn fast.   Try to think of it as unlocking new packs, and more spikes.   Whatever works.

The only thing about spikes I would like changed is to have them turn when clicked on again, like portals, so we can have wall and ceiling spikes.

40 spikes a week..

versus 6 portals a week..

EDIT: If you want to save on spikes placed, place them every other block, then place a sideways gravity arrow between them.   Walla, doubling your spikes, almost.   When you get more, fill in the gaps.

EDIT 2: No way.. you can turn spikes by clicking on them.   They're even shown in the shop image.. oh well.   Brbeditinglevel.

Whole builders club is just pure greed.

To compare the 10 bucks / month with a usual subscription based MMO you get.. less and just less.

EE has no customer support,
EE has no fixed rule set,
EE has a community which cannot chat with each other,
EE has a developer not talking to the community,
a usual MMO has

Customer Support,
Chat for everyone,
frequent and good content updates
developers talking to the community

All things EE won't ever have with its current developer.
Also the player count at prime time dropped from 1300 to 800 as I last checked.
Furthermore MrShoe is baning people by random or by simple complains received by his slave servants I do not name here, but they are mostly know for their own promotion of being a liason to MrShoe.

This is true, however, I think all of these are true with our previous developers.

Pretending to be a developer:
I want the most power, and it would lead to chaos (In our current way of "communicating to the developers") if I let them have any say in it. Why would I let them all have chat when I can make them pay for it? After all, it is for their protection, since they are mostly children.

Really, this and all those updates reallly come down to the fact that we all share the game. And without the children and the simple players, (some would call nubs) there wouldn't be enough players for the game.

Although who knows? I remember reading several topics about "OMG EE Should Add SPIKES!" and were constantly shot down by "But this is a children's game." (I believe they were backed up by sources from moderators) So, it could be possible that things would change with a new developer.

It all depends if this developer makes good profits or not.

Its not justified //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

Especially when I transfer money for EE, guessI have to poke paypal to revert the transfer as "denial of service" from MrShoe //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

Re: The cost of spikes

To all the people throwing out the argument about spikes being cheaper than portals, that does not matter. Portals are fine when used in small quantities. They are used to quickly transport a smiley from one place to another without annoying tunnels and arrows everywhere. With spikes, you are probably going to use them in very large quantities.
Personally I think spikes are a great alternative to portals. Their hitbox is ~1/2 of a portal which makes great for precision minigames, and when you die your ghost ragdoll thing has a second of momentum, which is able to collect anything, even checkpoints.
Sure you get spikes faster than portals, but it's still hella slow.

Portals were often used as spikes before.   If spikes are too expensive, where are all the topics about portals being too expensive?   Why is it people only complain when something is made cheaper?

Before you could get 6 "spike" portals a week.   No complaints.

Now you can get 40 actual spikes a week.   Complaints.

You just got 70% off of portals used as spikes and that's terrible apparently.   You can pay 1000 energy and replace 10 portals on your map with spikes, and can use those portals for other things in the world now.   1000 energy saves 10 portals.   1000 energy saves 6250 energy.   Before you had to pay 6250, but now it's reduced to 1000.   And this is awful I guess, some how.

Re: The cost of spikes

I have 100 portals... I guess it was a waste of energy now that you can get a lot more spikes. I might actually revive my only good level that I ever worked on. Yeah, I might just do that as soon as I have 1000 spikes.

Spikes don't completely replace portals, though.   The portals that were used for death traps can be replaced with spikes, but the ones used to get from one place of the map to another would stay as portals.

Idk about that... Actually I don't think they have to be death portals.

For example, say you have a spawn point -> Mini game -> Coin -> Spike.
When you have the coin and then hit the spike, you go back to the spawn which could have a coin door under it.
Ta-da! It's a non-death spike. (Well, you do still explode //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue)

They basically do the same thing, spike and checkpoint = Portal, but has no ID restriction, of which portals have.

However, they do not teleport you to a place where you have not been.

All these recent "Spikes" Levels in the lobby could easily be done with portals.

Just a beneficial artist point; They do not show up on the minifap, whereas portals do.

All in all, Portals have more uses.

Spikes have a different hitbox, and you have to actually have gotten to the receiver, for it to actually work.   Whereas, with a portal, you can teleport to an area you've never been before.   Also, you can "teleport" to different receivers, which is something that portals just cannot do.   So comparing Portals to hazards and checkpoints is like comparing apples to oranges.

They are different, and serve different functions.   Therefore Hazards =/= portals.
