Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: Farewell - another veteran gone

How about sending it to EA? This game's so awful I doubt they would ruin this.
Honestly though, remaking EE sounds like a fun idea to see. With Julian being the way he seems to be now though, stuff may happen...

Valid arguement //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

Yes, it is.   Toby and Cyclone have been around longer than MrShoe.   He may be the one doing the updates, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he's allowed to undermine them.

I know it exists, and had known for a very long time, just I never found it beforehand.
I believe it's possibly the same database that EE uses for it's updates.

The way EE updates, it looks for an object added to the database every minute, and if it is found it alerts
all worlds, and after a while it kills every room with an update message.

This has also lead to a possibility of my first concept of the update works.. but I can't analyze data if I can't obtain the data. So it's going to be a bit of a hassle to know which theory is correct.
@ to the possibility of re-creating this game:

I've already recreated the server [99%], lawlz. As for the client, showpath has already began progress on it. client block placements are done. It is pretty dang simple to recreate this game. And we're giving it a go for the hell of it.

I'm considering making EEServ3 open-source, so that it could get done faster, and maybe multiple people
could run their own servers. Just an idea.

If you actually mean this, then when do you think the game could become live? ([Possible] Release date)

I really wish the forums didn't have rules against bad language right now... I'd be banned from the forums if I could say what I feel like saying...

This is all just terrible. If you can be banned like this for no reason whatsoever, then any of us could be banned also. It isn't even safe to build a level now. They could catch you for something stupid just like they did to Helvi, and have you banned for it. This just completely sucks.

^I feel like what I just typed makes no sense, but it makes me feel smart.

Atilla is correct. There is no /unban command and only MrShoe and Chris have access to the codebase for EE to remove it.

I've only just got back from being home with family so I don't know what's going on with all these bans. Hopefully when Shoe gets back he'll respond and sort things out. As to putting nudity in your levels, even if it is artistic, what is defined as Inappropriate content should be considered against what the audience/client base of the thing you're talking about is.

Artistic nudity at an art gallery or 12+ film would be fine, of course, but nudity in a game largely populated by kids and teenagers? Probably not. I don't think I'd have put a whole ban out for it (especially as I know who the author is) but it's all down to the discretion of the moderator I guess. Hopefully this can be resolved without Helvi being made to leave though as it would be a shame to see him go.

Come on, it's black and white. You can hardly even call it inappropriate content. It is clearly just a style of art, a very good style in my opinion. EE is not just a game for kids, it's a game for everyone to be creative. You can't just ban him because his creativity is not for children. His worlds are also named in a way for kids to know it's not appropriate to go to his levels, he follows all the art rules, COME ON JUST GIVE HIM A BREAK. Do you even know how inappropriate content images look? His art style is completely different, I saw a lot more 'artistic works' that are a lot more inappropriate content yet they are still considered as 'art'. Come on now.

I don't think it's so much artistic nudity when you name your levels "Hot Girls."

And also when you make lots of levels like this.

I understand artistic nudity but when it's only nude females being drawn, with level names like those, but then it becomes more inappropriate content.   Women being used as eye candy.   Is that all we're good for?

It doesn't matter what the level was. If it was found offensive, it should have been cleared and saved instead of banning the creator.

I don't agree with the ban either.   The art could have been removed, yes, instead.

Farwell Helvi //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile EE is becoming quite rubbish. Looking at the amount of people online, half of the EE community have became inactive, including me as one of them.

Hey all //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

Thanks so much for your support and interest in this matter - a unique community, really //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile You are great !
@Toby, I often contacted RPGMaster2000 due to my maps and artistic style and he always said is fine "so far", but still at the edge. I agree with you at certain points.

@Everyone, seen any music vidoes recently? Also I can buy the Playboy at any store here at the age of 7. The maps barely show more than needed but fine - we all have to wait for Julians reply in a few days (if he does so of course)

That's totally right, but still not a written rule. It's not against the *cough* not existing Terms and Conditions of EE, so it doesn't really deserve a ban.

Just a personal tought: It's still better to have "early grown-up" children than noobs.

^ Also they could simply make him ask to delete his worlds, or just delete them with a warning.

Well, they weren't even full nude so banning him is a rude gesture to the art itself. I'm ashamed.

What Azure said. You read my mind. +rep. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

Let's think, though. What one might think as art (Helvi), others will see as inappropriate (the parents of the kids playing EE)
If you were a parent and your son/daughter was on one of Helvi's levels, what would you do? No more EE. A complaint goes to Shoe/Chris. EE is supposed to be a family friendly game, and no offence to Helvi, but those worlds aren't something a 6-9 year-old should see. If the above scenario happened, couldn't EE get sued?

And yes, whoever banned could've just used /clearsave, but at the same time, remember that ONLY Shoe's running the place and probably doesn't have the time to send a warning and check on you to see if you went right back to making (Helvi = art, parent = inappropriate content). If he did this to one, he'd hve to do it for all, otherwise there would be more complaints. I'm 50/50 on his actions of banning vs. warning.

tak4n wrote:

Kids won't avoid the level because it's named like that, they'll INTENTIONALLY go to the level, and they know they shouldn't go there, but there isn't anything to prevent them from clicking on the level.

If they're going there intentionally, levels aren't the problem. It would probably be easier to find actual inappropriate content on the internet than just looking at levels in an obscure game.

Re: Farewell - another veteran gone

Maybe you should add some more clothing if the mods decide it is inappropriate.

But this is really uncool.   A ban without a warning is unfair.   Even if you knew your levels were inappropriate, if mods never said so, they can't ban you out of the blue.   However lets keep our cool.   We don't all want to get banned, so let's just have Helvi and some of his friends e-mail the moderators/administrators and see what happens after that.

Chris needs to write EE Rules, because bans without rules are unfair. If EE don't have rules, so there shouldn't be any bans.

If they're going there intentionally, levels aren't the problem.

There are two things that end up with the child going to the level:

1) The level name and content being available on a FAMILY FRIENDLY GAME,
2) and the young child who doesn't know better or purposely goes on the level while know it's wrong.

Think of it this way:
You are MrShoe and you received a complaint vs. the level. Which would you do? Would you tell the parent that YOUR kid is the problem when this game is family friendly, or would you take action vs. the level owner? The latter. If you told the first option to the parent, best case scenario: block EE site from the kid. Worst case scenario: lawsuit. End of EE.
Yes, the child should be punished, but on a game that's family friendly: Not happening.

It would probably be easier to find actual <inappropriate content> on the internet than just looking at levels in an obscure game.

Except that the parent would be able to see what the child was doing, or had web filters in place.
The child would know that their parents would know if they were looking for <inappropriate content>, but when it's THERE and easily a click away and in a game they play a lot and also designed to be family friendly... you know the rest. It's more likely that the child (not searching for it on purpose) would view it (on purpose) because he/she saw it in the list, rather than trying to look for the <inappropriate content> (on purpose).

Honestly, I'm starting to dislike where this topic is going. A lock might be needed soon.
