Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

A Lesson to Learn About Copying...

Click Here to see the story of what happened yesterday with me catching copiers in the act.   You don't have to read the whole thing, (there is a tl;dr at the bottom) but this is a warning to all future copiers and past. Look at how beautiful their levels are at the bottom.

Those levels took less time than it would have taken to copy my level. And they are something of which they can be proud. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

Let me know how the minis play btw, I fail at minis =P

Even Though They Made Levels For Apologies, I Think They Should Have Taken Longer And Put More Effort Into Them To Show There Apologies..

Usually when people copy my stuff, I don't really mind honestly, usually because when they do they fail at it <_<;

But I'm glad they learned their lesson.

I dislike copiers //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/neutral

I dont mind if they give me credit, but its important to ask someone for permission before you steal something from someone. I hate it when someone takes credit for my work. For some reason it really bothers me, especially if the level is "popular".

You never cease to amaze me, Bee. I would have been angry with them and just generally punish them [or maybe just lol], yet you handled it so calmly and maturely. It's like woah. I could never do that.
When I grow up, I want to be as nice as you. :'D

I wouldn't copy your work, but I want to use your guide when I get another big world.

Re: A Lesson to Learn About Copying...

You know, for this one I can't seem to make a clear decision. Did the positive outcome, them becoming better people, outweigh the negative beginning? I believe that it at least balanced it a bit, but I don't know. On one hand they copied, on the other they became better people who will probably try and teach other copiers not to copy. EE life is almost as confusing as real life. Why must I look at this philosophically.

Re: A Lesson to Learn About Copying...

Well Im glad they apologized, I saw kongfan in snake boss earlier when I was there, people kept asking him about this, but he said he had apologized and it was worked out, so i hope they have learned their lesson!

It's funny how amazing all the levels they made on their own were. They should stick with their style, not steal someone elses, because they seem to have great potential.

Only Kongfan was really sorry, the others were either too stupid to understand or too young to understand.

Well I read the whole thing and I think you acted correctly. Deleting their own worlds wouldn´t bring anything for both. They had also a great idea to apologize. So I think that was a happy end. 1smile1

Re: A Lesson to Learn About Copying...

I have an idea to stop this happening again. On each level, put a 'No Copy' sign. Then, people will know not to copy. I know it's not 100% (or even 50%) effective, but at least people know you don't want them to copy it.

P.S. feel free to mock me, but at least give me something constructive to work with
