Which do you prefer? EE nowadays or EE 1-2 years ago?

1 and a half years ago, when it wasn't SO simple that there was like nothing but there were enough blocks so that it was still fun and and AWESOME people!!! Plus, everyone was more interesting and shezz! ^_^

@Terene2205 ? Blocking blocks is nothing like the old EE -- bad, new community unlike old unique community, horrible mods, and very un-populated. The old EE will never come back, Blocking Blocks is nothing like it.

Actually, the EE community was never good. Only a few members really gained my respect.

@Persona Actually, I sorta half to agree with you on that. -.- Maybe the ego problems are getting better, but when I was invited to CS about a year ago now (maybe 11 months) I went there and everyone was so incredibly rude and hostile that I barely ever went again. -.- Worst experience ever. I could explain it in detail, but it was just... awful. -..-

Personally I like any time where there is a good boss level. But EX crew boss basically raised me in this game, it was my main motivation and I would do anything to either go back in time to the moment where it was still on or it being on nowadays. Yo! Scroll is too epic though and I don't want it to die... EVER.

For me, there's no question that EE was the best 1-2 years ago, and even 3 years ago. The aspect of EE that made it special in comparison to similar games was the fact that it required the player to utilize creativity as one of his greatest assets where as nowadays, weekly updates have jungle blocks already made, cloud blocks already made, temple blocks already made, and honestly too many shades of various colors. Before, you were forced to use what you had, and regardless of the scarcity of available blocks, people were still able to make stunning creations. Now, not a single level stands out. Maybe occasionally a crew makes one with superior art and minis, but in general, levels made by experienced players tend to be the same level of prestige. I despise the weekly update system with new blocks every week. When Chris used to release updates every month, they used to be special. They used to be something that people anticipated because of how uncommon they were. Now, I could care less whether the next update is going to be more decoration blocks or action blocks because I already know there'll be tons by the end of the month. You can argue that new blocks are better because they allow you to make better creations but in all honesty, they are reducing the level of creativity. This is simply my opinion, nothing more.

This is a tough choice, with the number of TAL's being created today.

Also, despite how I never was able to play in some of the old TAL's or bosses (Original Yo!Scroll, EX Crew Boss, etc.), no matter how many bad additions there were, I'd have to stick with the newer EE.

I experienced the last 2/3 months of coldstorm, and that was the best time of EE for me.
Awesome community, and I could test levels before everyone else could play it

But nowadays there are really nice action blocks, and you can do fun things with the potions. And I can make better levels too, more experience and nice action blocks.

Coldstorm was/is just a group of users who talked about random subjects in a chat. I don't remember any type of megahaxor group there. Nowadays it's dead though, since it isn't its own site anymore, and I miss it a lot.
(about the people being nice, most of the people are chill but there's an amount of deadpan snarkers and short tempers of course)

More on-topic, the more colours the more practical to shade technically. But I will admit it's often frustating to find the right pallette, with so many possibilities.

ee was best 2 years ago. people just used to make better levels back then. you didnt need a bot to run it and you had to design it with your brain. plus we still had ex crew, among other classic level makers.

You know what, I'd prefer it if old EE and modern EE were splodged together to make a new EE. That would be the best. People continue making levels, the veterans still play EE, EX Crew, etc. etc. all the stuff that was good in the olden days.

Basically, I would prefer today's EE splodged together with the old EE. The old community and veterans still are there and make great levels, while we still have all these cool blocks the MrShoe gave us (apart from those bad ones, which are most (read my earlier post's edit))

Generally, EE 1-2 years ago was better for me. It's still fun to play now, even if I failed to catch up with the updates and then lost interest in the game altogether.

I mean, it's still very fun, but I just don't feel that grasp of coming back to play a level for some reason as I did 1-2 years ago.

The point of the game is to have fun. If you are not having fun that is not Julians fault.

The game can still be played the same it was 1-2 years ago if you want. No one if forcing anyone to use the new bricks/smileys.

I'll agree the overall enjoyment of the community has declined, as most of the better players have quit EE, but that is no reason to blame Julian. Julian did not make them go away. They went away on their own.

This game is better nowadays, there have been any good updates along with the bad. No game is perfect.

Anyway, Maybe you have a point, Failgirl. But you can't play the game how it used to be.
The only people that will answer (nowadays) to this answer are the ones who weren't there 1-2-3 years ago.
They won't miss it like the real "locals" to the game. Sure, they mighta got the end of the good ol' days, but it didn't grind in enough. Obviously.
You remember the good ol' days, don't you guys? Where you had to wait forever for an update?
If you ask me, I hated to wait for the update. I wanted it sooner. But in a way, I liked having to wait.
Waiting a month for the update meant that for thought was put into it. Like a movie sequel. If you wait a few years in between each movie, you script writer will take his time, he won't feel rushed and it will have more thought.

Remember when you ran around a level, collecting coins? Every time you got on EE, you'd hope you'd get a magic coin. They were rare, which made the whole thing fun and unique. I can just see that look on your faces when you remembered. Lets squash that with the fact that there are no more magic coins. were stuck with the (awesome woots) <MrShoe's words. I don't like woots at all. anyway, like I was saying. the old EE won't come back. so unless you like this sorry excuse of a game, then stop playing. That's what I did. I can only hope it WILL come back. but I think MrShoe has a hold on this game by the blocks, and he won't let go.

I've been playing since November 2010 so I KNOW what the game used to be like. Fact is it isn't that much different. The main differences are probably the magic/woots, but other than that it hasn't really changed at all.

The idea of the game is still the same, it's a simple open world sand box game where players can build and edit. I'm not saying the updates have been GOOD (because honestly most of the new graphics are just plain ugly) but they are the same concept (smileys and blocks).

Also think of all the good things we have gotten too: Coin Gates, Hazards, Potions, Many many new chat commands, Time Doors, Switches, Checkpoints, Backgrounds, Decorations, etc...

These add new ideas and new concepts which could not have been done before. Yes, it is nice to make levels with the old blocks, but the fountain of creativity cannot last forever on such simple tools. It evolves, and gets better. If you minus the woots, the magic the game is really not so bad.

I like the new EE much more than the old one, and its not just because I'm some newbie right off the bat.

EDIT: Also I don't particularly like Julian myself, but I'm just saying I don't blame him either. I'm really neutral on the matter TBH.

Well, I don't really like the (Checkpoint and Zombies and dying) Stuff. And especially Potions. We aren't supposed to turn colors, jump higher, and whatever else they do. I'm not sure what they all do, cuz, if you haven't noticed, I quit the game. Unless things change. But what really tipped the boat over, was having to play a lot and get the (woots) to enjoy the game smileys. Even the ones I bought, I have to be apart of the woot thing to use them. That's not fair, I BOUGHT THEM. I shouldn't have to do something to use something I bought. And It boggles my mind for someone to actually prefer the new, over the old. Chris should have made a new everybody edits game all together for MrShoe to Experiment on. That way, the game "locals" and whoever liked the older version, better than the newer one, could play on the original game. and the few players that like the woot game, could play on the new one. And everyone would be happy. And Chris would control the older one, of course.

I got my rep down explaining this to (people who like the newer better.) If any of you agree, can you at least bring it back up to 0?

If you hate it so much than why do you still play? EE is just a game. There are thousands of games on the internet. Play something else that you do like then instead of hating on this one.
