Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Bot Framework

UPDATE: The framework was just updatet to version 1.75.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Whoever wants to support this work can apply as admin //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

Intro:

Hi you all,
(First of all: whoever finds mistakes in my grammar can keep them)

today I coded a little framework for bot makers to build new bots much easier than ever before. Coders don't have to connect to Everybodyedits themselves and there are also some useful methods like getting the blockID at a position in the level provided. The next days I'll publish some more tutorials on how to create the actual plugin for the framework but for today I only give you all the download link to the framework with some sample plugins pre-installed.

Stay tuned,
EuadeLuxe.

Links:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/botfram … r/download
~ Download the framework. ~
https://sourceforge.net/p/botframework/wiki/Tutorials/
~ Finally all first tutorials are written now. ~
http://sourceforge.net/projects/botfram … l/download
~ A sample plugin called TheAgent. ~

Sample plugins:

~ TheAgent ~
Follow an user though a world by typing !follow username. Stop it through typing !stop.

Installation:
To install the framework just extrace the .rar-File you just downloaded above anywhere on your computer. To start it just open the EEFramework.exe.

If you login make sure you´re typing into the textboxes. If you type into the console, you´ll may have to restart the framework again.

Features:
* Easy to use.
* Provides useful classes and functions.
* Runs the plugins too.
* Expandable.
* Full control of enabling and disabling the installed plugins.
* [...]

Version:
The current version is 1.75 tested with the sparta update.

Tips and Tricks:
If you want to launch the framework with a console you give the command-line argument [devbuild].

I hope you´ll all like my work and as I already said I'll add tutorials on how to create a plugin for this in the next days.

Okay, one doesn't simply make a framework in one day.

Second thoughts, it's not very useful without better features and documentation. We have our own framework too, called EECloud, and it really does have a complicated buildup, but can be used easily, even by newbies; althrough it's not public.
If you put a project on SourceForge, then why don't you provide the source code? Host it somewhere else or do so. And for source code storing, I really recommend GitHub for you.

It would be great if this project could grow bigger and won't have weird design mistakes like the allowance of resizing fixed size windows; or their yellowish background.
It should also detect the connection form being closed too.
Have fun with this little project, and think before you program! Use interfaces, constants, enums, and other things for the buildup, so it will be easily maintainable.

Believe me, I really coded this framework in ONE single day!
As I said I'll add the documentation as soon as possible but because this takes some time I can't add it just now.
Maybe I'll post the source code later but currently the framework is under development and maybe has some bugs, too. I and Jekamaster are currently debugging the framework and we hope we´ll be done soon. Jekamaster can also tell you I coded the framework in one single day.
I never heard of EECloud, what is this? I´d be glad if you could give me more informations.

I also hope this could grow bigger. But what´s is against yellowish backgrounds ^^;)? Well, of course I can make the window resizable in the next version, but I though who would scale three textboxes larger and maybe up to fullscreen o.O?

If you have any other ideas I could develop, I´d be pleased if you tell me.

Bye for now,
~ EuadeLuxe ~

#EDIT: If you want to get the source code and you promise not to give it away or to simply copy paste it I can give it to you. But maybe it´s a bit hard to understand.

Re: Bot Framework

I already have the source. And I must say, it looks like a job you would make in 1 hour.
EECloud is atleast serious, I have no idea if this is that.

Re: Bot Framework

EECloud is atleast serious

So you believe I'm not serious? Well, I am. I don't even know what EECloud is and it seems like nobody wants to tell me o.O.
Well, there is already a user that uses my framework and he really enjoys it. It seems like nobody had this idea before, so why souldn´t I create it? This shall be a project that gets UPDATED so it´s still not finished. I hoped you guys could help me improving it instead of telling me I made it bad. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile
If anybody of you guys could give me ideas for improvements, I´d be really glad if he/she could tell me. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

And please tell me what´s EECloud.
Best regards,
EuadeLuxe.

PS.: DOH: It took longer as one hour. It took me about four up to five hours to code it.

Re: Bot Framework

EECloud is a private framework. Also I'll see if this is any good.

Re: Bot Framework

I've already told you what EECloud is, and so, well, Processor had the idea for an EE framework before you. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink (but nevermind)

I'm not (yet? //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile) interested in the source code as we currently have a more extended one. But may the force be with you; have fun and program well! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

Re: Bot Framework

Thank you jojatekok,

Yes I WILL continue programming on this and yes I   made the first tutorials now (visit them on https://sourceforge.net/p/botframework/wiki/Tutorials/), also for plugin programmers.
The next update I'll bring in a PluginManager where you can enable/disable the loaded plugins.
Jekamaster was so nice to provide some more sample plugins that can be downloaded here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/botfram … p/download.

Stay tuned,
~ EuadeLuxe ~

@BuzzerBee: I hope this is something for you //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink If you have any question just ask me, okay? //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

Re: Bot Framework

Hope this goes well..   I would take your time creating the best framework that exists.   I'm sure there are only 2 reasons to why the 'critics' of this forum dislike this.

1) Maybe it is rushed, I have no idea.
2) It's another project that they don't want to see cause it is public.

Don't succumb to pressure, good luck.

@Persona: I won't believe me //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink. I'll even upload the next release tomorrow or on friday. If you want to know more just pm me. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

#EDIT: And yes my goal is to make a very good framework to provide a good tool for the common users or programmers that don't want to spent much time on connection and so on.. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

#EDIT2: Sry for the second one, but no it´s not rushed. There are already some people who use it. And they really enjoy it //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Um...can this be used with something other than C#?

qgreen_meklar: Well I guess so. C# is a language of the .NET-Framework of Microsoft, so I guess it should work with Visual Basic, or other languages of .NET too. But you´ll have to make ensure you ARE using a language of the .NET-Framework. If you have any other problems don't shy to ask me, okay?

This looks like it can really grow to something huge.   Keep it up! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink   Such as a print function (lets you send some message in the form of EE Chat)!

@Persona: Well, good idea, thank you. I'll do this in the next update! But today´s update was an enabling / disabling manager for all the plugins which was really necessary //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink.

@Emalton: No, it´s not rushed. Why don't you try out yourself? //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile I guess you would enjoy it!

Re: Bot Framework

I don't use other services, for I have to include more .dll files. A bot doesn't look professional with 3+ .dlls in it. And, what if you take people's info? Like Account and their friends etc... That would be bad.
Anways, that's my opinion.
Good luck anyways.

Re: Bot Framework

@Emalton: I don't take anyone´s information. And it makes me sad you think that! And you only have to include two dlls that will be packed INTO your plugin-dll so the users only have to drop your plugin into their plugins-folder.

Thank goodness for proprietary platforms!

It's not really my place to complain, so I guess I'll just have to head over to Q&A at some point and see if anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong with my Flash contraption.

Re: Bot Framework

Whats up with everyone hating this because of my EECloud? (EECloud is a program I created that also loads "plugins" with the same goals as this, it still has another purpose and is kinda more advanced than this, providing its own EE specific API only using PlayerIOClient in the background and not exposing anything of it to the plugins.)

I find this a very nice project, and looking at your code, it is possible to write a such program in one day. Yet, it requires some advanced programming knowledge which proves you are a very good programmer. EE has been lacking some good programmers like you for a long time.

Looking at the bot, I find it to have some great potential to become popular if people are willing to contribute some plugins. Create a place where people can install plugins from internet and approve the plugins that do not contain viruses. No more stealing accounts, no more fake bots, no more viruses! What else should you worry about?! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

It took me less than a minute to decompile your program using a tool called Reflector, and then I had access to the whole source. I don't see any reason why not to publish this program as open source, you can then get help from other developers and have your features done more quickly.
If you decide still not to publish the source, I'd recommend you to move from sf because having no source code is against the policies and will eventually get you banned from the site.

Other than that, I wish you good luck with the project and hope this turns out well.

What exactly is your problem?

There are about three different layers of ways to answer that question, of which most would be off-topic.

Re: Bot Framework

@Processor: Thank you processor! I'll publish the source now and I also hope this´ll grow bigger. I also used Reflector (to be more accurate I used   ILSpy). Thank you for giving me the hint of sf´s policies. I didn´t realized that before. Thank you for your feedback //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink. If anyone of you wants to code with me on the framework I'm sure we could find a way. And thank you for your praise //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile. But what exactly do you mean with "a place on the internet where people can install plugins"? Well, of course i could code a downloader inside the framework, but I don't know if this is so useful. Or do you mean something like a platform / website where the developers can sign up and provide their work? Well, I have 5 domains, so why not? (And I learned enough languages to do that ^^ HTML, CSS, Java, C++, C#, VB, AS2, AS3 and some more). Anyway I'll think of something like that, thank you again!
PS.: I'm from Germany, too. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink
PS2.: Sorry, but I didn´t know there is something else when I coded this.

@green_meklar: I wish you could tell me how I can help you... //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile.

A trusted place where people can download plugins that are first approved before published there. I'd imagine this to be inside a website I can visit, you could provide me with a direct download link to the dll (e.g. BukkitDev) or instead develop a program that manages the downloads from the site (e.g. Firefox Plugins, iTunes). The second option requires you to setup a special URL protocol handler and the bot must be installed as a program, so it's way easier to go with the first option.

Re: Bot Framework

@Processor: Believe it or not, but exactly that is what I started coding yesterday //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink. I made the first option, the website, where I only need more admins and a few last days to launch it. Hopefully I can find some people that would do that with me. The website will be able to be launched when I'm finished with coding it (3-5 days). If anyone wants to become admin he / she should just PM me.
