Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

How is this game p2p?

BC is temporary

3$ chat reduces the amount of annoying shared accounts and gives you 5$ worth of gems

Gems aren't needed to purchase much except BC, Diamond, and Big Spender.

Gem costs for classic items and most other things have dropped enormously

No one's pointing a loaded gun at your head telling you to buy things...

...So how is this p2p?

Re: How is this game p2p?

It's not, I suppose some players are just feeling threatened, pushed into a corner by a force encouraging money, and feel that it's getting too much. One example: why should players who pay get more content than everyone else? I'm sure if there was just a donation meter or something, more people would be encouraged to pay freely.

Plus, I don't think the BC tactic is a good idea. Kids who play the game aren't going to get their parents to drop $100 just so he can get a little more content for a year, and older people with that kind of money know better.

^, no dumb person will throw away 100$ for their kid's game. There's tons of better game like Portal 2, Terraria, Minecraft, etc. Long story short, 100$ is ridiculous.

You still have the Beta features if you already bought it.

Builder club isn't a waste as it allows new players to actually obtain the absurd amount of items in a reasonable time span and begin making levels.

Re: How is this game p2p?

It's not pay to play, it's that stupid kind of game where you have a huge advantage over those who don't care enough to spend money on it, sort of like Neopets, Gaiaonline, Club Penguin, and a lot of other games, to the point where it might as well be pay to play because it's pay to play well. On the plus side, at least people who have been playing EE for a long time aren't getting totally screwed over... yet.

But you don't have a HUGE advantage over people. With games like Neopets, Gaiaonline, and Club Penguin, you get special items that non-payers cannot possibly obtain. In this game, you only get a diamond and a big spender smiley, which I think are a huge waste of money. With builders club, they're just attempting to get ahead because it'll take thousands of energy clicks to get the same packs that other people have.

I would not be surprised to see some sort of future version that is p2p, something that would have more features, private lobby etc.

Too much money spent? Bah!

Of course there's that user that got banned (can't remember username) that had 21 diamonds, but that's irrelevant.

That's a little sad. His poor parents...

I remember him telling me to buy him 600 gems for the code to his level. ._.

Pay to play, rass sometimes pay for play, is a phrase used for a variety of situations in which money is exchanged for services or the privilege to engage (play) in certain activities. The common denominator of all forms of pay to play is that one must pay to "get in the game," with the sports analogy frequently arising.

Wikipedia/2 wrote:

Free-to-play refers to any video game or social or mobile application that has the option of allowing its players/users to play/download without paying. [...] Since games using the concept are available at no cost to players, they use other means to gather revenue, such as charging money for certain in-game items (like powerful bonuses which are usually available for real money only) or integrating advertisements into the game. Free-to-play can be contrasted with pay-to-play, in which payment is required before using a service. Pay-to-play games usually offer equal gaming experience for all players while free-to-play games give advantage to premium players. Free-to-play games are similar to freemium, a more general term and a business model in which a product is offered free of charge while a micropayment is charged for users to access premium features and virtual goods .Shareware by contrast typically only offers a portion of the game, such as Id Software's first-episode shareware versions of many of their early first-person shooters. If there is no charge payable for any feature in a game, it's known as freeware.

>This game is a freemium game

Wikipedia/3 wrote:

The business model, called crippleware, has probably been in use for software since the 1980s, particularly in the form of a free time- or feature-limited ('lite') version, often given away on a floppy disk or CD-ROM, to promote a paid-for full version. The model is particularly suited to software as the manufacturing cost is negligible, so ? as long as significant cannibalization is avoided ? little is lost by giving it away for free.

However, this term for the model appears to have been created only much later, in response to a 2006 blog post by venture capitalist Fred Wilson summarizing the model:
Give your service away for free, possibly ad supported but maybe not, acquire a lot of customers very efficiently through word of mouth, referral networks, organic search marketing, etc., then offer premium priced value added services or an enhanced version of your service to your customer base.

[...]In 2009, Chris Anderson published the book Free, which examines the popularity of this business model. As well as for traditional software and services, it is now also often used by Web 2.0 and open source companies.[4]
The freemium model is closely related to tiered services. It has become a highly popular model, with notable examples including LinkedIn [...]. A freemium model is sometimes used to build a consumer base when the marginal cost of producing extra units is low.

>The game started as freeware, but is now a freemium game.

It's not pay-to-play. You can easily play without playing. It's pay-to-get-lots-of-extra-features.
