Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

BitCoins - Help me out

Hey guys, I am attempting to save up some bitcoins (JFGI) so that I can buy a VPS for a Runescape Private Server. In order to do this, I will need to collect bitcoins from you guys. All I need is for you to open up http://www.bitcoinplus.com/generate?for=4536184 in a new tab and keep it running for as long as you can. The reason I get paid for this is because it takes your computer's extra power and uses it to solve puzzles. Please note that this will NOT create any lagg for you. Thanks for any help, it is greatly appreciated. (If you are interested in joining the RSPS pm me and if you want prizes on it, hoping I get the VPS, send pics that you were on the website. Once again, thanks for any help!

Re: BitCoins - Help me out

Do you think you could maybe get me some gems if I do it?   If you say yes, I'll PM you the link, but if not, I'll probably close the bitcoin tab....

Re: BitCoins - Help me out

I'm not sure you guys understand how this works, exactly. This cannot be done for gems. The way bitcoins are 'made' is by solving a big, pointless math equation. It requires your graphics card to do this. Generally, these things force your graphics card to solve loads of smaller, pointless equations to generate bitcoins, because that's what graphics cards do: solve many equations very fast. This cannot work for gems, because they're simply assigned an amount. Bitcoins actually have something to back them up, much like the USD did once with gold: The amount of energy it required to make them.

Related to your request: I would, but my parents are paranoid that "IT'S A VIRUS JAD, UR GONNA DESTROY TEH COMPYOOTER"

EDIT: "... is by solving a big, pointless math equation. It requires math to do this."
No fecal matter, really?

Um... Do you always ask for game money? Because you asked for some money like 5 times in tinychat before I told you to stop...

Re: BitCoins - Help me out

This is free for everyone. Perhaps not the people using the site to get jaso Bitcoins (it uses your graphics card, explained in my post and at bitcoin.org), but nowhere does it charge anybody any money.

Re: BitCoins - Help me out

Not very long. He just has 4 cards, so it'll be pretty damn fast for him.

Also, it appears I've made a mistake with my explanation. Bitcoins aren't really backed by anything, any more than USD are. I said they were backed by the cost of the energy it took to create/discover them, but they're not. They're backed by the products that vendors promise to exchange for them. Without that, they're essentially as useless as USD if vendors stopped accepting it - which is really stupid. Bitcoins are still awesome, though.
