Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hello people,
Some people asked me, when new updates for EE will come.
I'm no moderator in EE but I found out a possible reason:
Block data sources from Capashas website
What do you think about this?
Discuss.
Update the game to bump up decoration IDs. Then update the game again with new blocks with freed up IDs?

1st way moving decoration id's all 600 up = more place, or?
BUT: this will not happen because all saved levels need to get edited, I guess that are over 100k in 1 GB
2nd way just make blocks over id 600 (where some bots will get confused because they mean, it's background)
BUT: they will "crash" again when updates not stop (don't speak from the brick selector!)

idk much about how this stuff works, but couldn't the put down EE for a day and update all maps so the bumped up IDs would work or something? Or.. just start using new block IDs suepr far ahead from decors.
Whoa, I bet Chris and Julian didn't see that one coming. Nice work!
This wouldn't be a problem if they made block/decoration/background have their own layers. =P

exactly that i thought too 1smile1

Then perhaps that's another thing they might do?

They could modify the worlds when the user joins them only...

I guess that Chris could close the multiplayer servers until he runs a huge PlayerIO query that replaces the current block IDs and/or layers of every saved world. It can be done, but it isn't too easy to do...
I have never understood why admins don't announce that they are taking a break. Not if we could easily stalk them and ask them on the beach to "gimme 9k gemzz mai usernammzzz iz j0j@tek00k oh maaaan do it naoooooo plz". -_-"

Not all saved levels would need to get edited. There could be some redirects to certain IDs.
It'd be messy but still a solution.
There's definitely more than 1GB in total worlds, if you look at the raw data in the world database you can count the bytes and calculate that reaching 1GB wouldn't take much at all.

EE does have a rather large database. So yes, they'd basically break worlds for a while depending on how much processing power they have. To be fair though, all they have to do is go through each world, parse it, and shift over block IDs. I don't see it taking more than a few hours, even for every world in EE.

Decorations should begin with 32768/-32768 and backgrounds should begin with 0. Worlds should be converted first when people join the worlds.

I Agree.
