Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Disabled rep

Can someone explain to me why the rep was removed? I used to enjoy seeing that little number and I don't really understand why it would be completely removed from everyone. What the heck was wrong with having the option to enable/disable it? Why force everyone to have it disabled? Yes a lot of people find it useless, but there are some people who, like me, enjoy seeing how their rep changes as they make more posts.

^BTW, Meredith, can there be something added, so I can give people who complete the maps that I post something?   I like being able to give people something who say, goes and hunts for all the blue coins in a map that I make.

I saw that, but how will permanently disabled rep lead to more quality content?? And if people are "squandering over and insignificant number" they would still have the option to turn their own rep off. It shouldn't effect everybody.

Re: Disabled rep

If flame rep wars bother you, you can disable your own rep. We shouldn't all be punished because of a few others having an argument.

Re: Disabled rep

This might not be a good idea, but only some users should be able to use reps (like maybe you have to have... I dunno)

Re: Disabled rep

I didn't intend to get rep disabled, but I don't have an issue with it. It doesn't serve a ton of purpose. I never have mine on though. You'd have to take it up with a mod. Besides, like Creature said it will prevent a lot of flame rep wars, as well as forum rep raiders (though I don't know who would bother raid the forums these days.)
-
Also Creature, you can PM a mod to get your rep disabled, that's what I had to do before. It doesn't matter now that it's gone, but if it was there all you had to do was ask a mod.

Then bring it back, and if it looks like some people are obviously abusing the rep system, then remove it from them. It should not be removed from everyone.

Re: Disabled rep

You don't have to tell me. Also, Atilla posted a few possible solutions here: http://eeforumify.com/viewtopic.php?id=30583

I also often PM moderators when I have questions. It's much quicker and efficient.

Re: Disabled rep

If someone could be bothered a third party rep counter could be made to be put in signatures. Anyone?

There was actually a thing on the profile page where you could turn reputation off. Of course, it's removed, though.

Re: Disabled rep

She had to PM me to get it turned off because that thing was broken. It still is, actually. I didn't do anything, but after repeatedly hitting the off button, FailGirl managed to turn it off.

I've succeeded to turn my reputation off many times through double-clicking the off button. It's not that hard, actually.

Re: Disabled rep

Honestly, I really don't see the whole point of this. If someone is having a problem with their reputation, there has always been a way to disable it. No need to completely kill off the entire system for the some people who actually did like it.

After all, I myself have never seen any of the supposed fighting or issues that the reputations have ever caused.
