When a person isn't moving or chatting for more than a minute, his smiley turns black. You have to buy the smiley first to use it. The smiley shows up with all the smilies, but you cannot select it, you have to be AFK for it to work. Once you move or chat, the smiley changes back to the last smiley you used.
this has been suggestion more the twice, but it is still a good idea.
