Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Let the round 2 judging begin!
Skullz16 & Sensei1
SmittyW
Jawapa & Superbowlboundraven
Chiscorey & Toxic
Kentiya
Theditor & Stagecrew
Itsmeandersonlol - Dropped out
Muftwin
Creature & Blizzard10
DCLevels
Muffin
Calicara & Esox270
Numberkirbyfan1O
iPwner
-
Since you had issues with making your world Kentiya, I will allow it to be turned in 1 day late.
-
NEW JUDGING SYSTEM:
Gameplay:
The gameplay should be scored off of how well it blended with the art and the idea of the map. Levels without minigames should not be given low ratings, unless the gameplay does not match the world style at all. The majority of the maps in round 2 will probably not have the normal minigames that you would expect, but rather, unique gameplay styles. These maps should not be hurt for that.
-
For worlds that have minigames; They should be scored off of how well they blend with the art, as well as how fun they were. Do not give a world a bad rating due to minis being too easy or too hard. As long as they were fun, and enjoyable, you shouldn't complain about difficulty. If the minigames are ragey, at least finish beating the world, and grade the minigames as a whole. Last round we had a judge give some minigames a 1/10 without even finishing them. This is NOT acceptable.
-
Gameplay should recieve a rating X/10.
-
Art:
The art should be a combined score of minimap art and ingame art. Levels should not recieve scores based completely off of one or the other.
-
When it comes to minimap art, pay attention to how well the art matches the idea of the level. You don't need extremely detailed amazing art to make a good world. However, the worlds should still look like the owner did all they could. If you see ways that things could have been improved, feel free to take some points away for it. Just remember to always have a good reason for it.
-
For ingame art, pay attention to how neat the level looks ingame, are there tons of decorations everywhere? Are there backgrounds all over the place that make it hard to see? Both of these can ruin the ingame experience. Also, even too many arrows, boosts, or even coins can effect ingame art, keep an eye out for those problems as well.
-
Art should recieve a rating X/10.
-
Theme:
I noticed that several of the levels in round 1 barely fit into the desert theme. This category will insure that every level should remain as close to the intended theme as possible. This score should be based off of how well the art and minis as a whole represent the choosen theme for the current round.
-
Theme should recieve a rating X/10
-
Things not to do:
- Boost a score for being perfect. If it's perfect, then they obviously do not need a higher score.
- Score a level without completing it. I don't care how long it takes you to beat it. It's very unfair to give a world a bad score without fully playing it. This is what you guys signed up for.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you are done, all 3 scores should be added up and then divided by 3. That final score is the one that I will need.
ALL JUDGES WILL BE REQUIRED TO JUDGE THIS ROUND AND ALL FUTURE ROUNDS USING THIS METHOD, UNLESS THEY ARE TOLD OTHERWISE.
Round 1 final scores will be posted later, I'm off to bed for now.

Still agree that you should add Creativity... as your point to why it shouldn't be added was a bit vague.
But, looks much fairer than just random judging by the judges, good job, hopefully this makes things a bit more balanced.

ROUND 1 RESULTS:
1st Place - DCLEVELS - 48 POINTS
2nd Place - THEDITOR & STAGECREW - 47 POINTS
2nd Place - SMITTYW - 47 POINTS
4th Place - MUFTWIN - 40 POINTS
5th Place - JAWAPA & SUPERBOWLBOUNDRAVEN - 38 POINTS
5th Place - CALICARA & ESOX270 - 38 POINTS
7th Place - ITSMEANDERSONLOL - 37 POINTS
8th Place - IPWNER - 35 POINTS
9th Place - KENTIYA - 34 POINTS

12th Place - NUMBERKIRBYFAN1O - 30 POINTS
13th Place - MUFFIN - 26 POINTS
14th Place - CREATURE & BLIZZARD10 - 24 POINTS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a maximum of 60 points possible in round 1. If you scored badly on round one, don't worry. There is still plenty of time to catch back up. A lot of these scores are really close together.
-
Oh also, I guess I should add that:
DCLevels, Theditor&Stagecrew, SmittyW, Muftwin, Jawapa&Superbowlboundraven, Calicara&Esox270, and iPwner, all won their bracket.

If I get a score like that for round 1, I'm scared for round 2...
Also, the ranking isn't correct: If two people tie, the next person will be lower. For example, if two people get first place, the next person should be in third. Well, at least that's how it works in races.

Damn, I wanted us to be better than chiscorey and toxic. They beat us by 2 points.

Hey, I have a suggestion for the next thing. But guys: Don't start making this for the next round cause this IS JUS A SUGGESTION. The suggestion can be FOOD.

I honestly didn't expect to do so well, because I know I shirked out on minimap quality. 5th place is not bad though. I have a feeling DCLevels is gonna win this contest, he's had some really good concepts so far.
The theme for this week is "Time".
The theme for this week is "Time".
Where the rates of round 2?
This is a false statement.

The theme for this week is "Time".
That's perfect, as I had an idea of a level that fit that theme yesterday. It's just so much of a coincidence.

I strongly disagree with my scoring. Given that I spent more than an HOUR of my life, I deserve more than to be insulted by being buried by these plebeians. The score you have given me is not an accurate representation of my talent, it is only a lie based on the level I made. If you would have spent more time judging it, I'm sure you would see the subtle intricacies in my level that make it much better than those ranked above me. I request for all of thee judges to give the judging a second chance, and rank the levels on how much time was spent on them, not how good they are. This hour of my life spent on my level was to try and give others enjoyment, not for a rating of how "good" it is. Go back and play all the levels again. Did you enjoy them? No. Did you enjoy mine? Yes. Because of this, my level is the only one that even deserves to be scored. The rest of those noobs literally placed random blocks in their levels and submitted it. They did not use their experience for 4+ years of college to masterfully engineer a leel that could be fun for all. They only thought about their scores. I made my level using very intricate mathematical formulas, placing every block to have maximum enjoyment by the player. Now, let's think about what other people did. Dclevels, the highest-scoring player, did not even think about advanced trigonometric formulas while developing his level. Instead, he used the wits of a 6 year old and made systems so incoherent that a rocket scientist could not understand them. As a 7 year old myself, I spend the time to make sure that my level was interesting but also easily understandable. One of the levels involving aliens even used hacked blocks! This is an unfair advantage against poor African children who cannot afford such advanced hacking systems. The level in question is literally ruining Everybody Edits, a game we hold so near and dear. Christopher Benjaminsen spend much time perfecting this game, and you all are insulting my talent by judging a perfect level with an imperfect mindset.

Even though it's mean to change the scoring just because someone is sad, it still shouldn't really effect the score... Well I understand you Muffin. I would have changed your score also

We spent more than hour too, but I'm not crying about my score, I don't feel insulted about it, and the most important thing, I dont forget that this entire thing is JUST A GAME. I mean those pixels in screen that write 1st place or 26 points matter? Someone will say: 'Hey you got 9th place in EEC Contest you're a nub'...? No!, and if that happens Who cares? Each person knows the important of themselves and this contest, (that only a few persons know about it) won't change it. So don't forget that this is just a game, and dont ruin the fun! (and don't be mean with other participants, because they spent their time to make those worlds like everyone...)
