Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

The Downfall Of Ee

Why did Everybody edits get so non popular, I remember there being about 500-1000 players online now its just 100-300, is it because of the long vocation and that made people leave the game forever? or is it because of the give everyone chat thing? or could it be that ee is starting to get boring because there's no new block updates and no cool stuff that has been added yet? But seriously the mods should really try to get ee back up there.

Ok this will spark up a huge debate on Everybody Edits.

I can undoubtedly say MrShoe will come up.

this caused quite a storm of drama a while back, now no one cares anymore.

anyone who hasn't already left either accepts that EE isn't going to be the game it once was, or is in constant denial.
get used to it or leave.

To answer the OP,

- The mods went on holiday for a year
- No updates/not very good ones

The reasoning behind this is fair actually when you think about it, Cape hires more workers and has to pay salaries, thus making it more important than Everybody Edits. We were the minority compared to the audience Cape could reach out to. MrShoe and Mrvoid had projects they were working on for a year.

to answer the op, it really doesn't matter

but, chat for all did kill minigames and stairs, where were levels that inspired gameplay. now socialization is more dominant, hotels and rpgs run rampant

My name is Squad, and I'm an addict. I managed to break free for a whole 6 months with no intentions of returning - but here I am.

Re: The Downfall Of Ee

So, basically...

In the early days of 2012, there had been a lack of updates. RPGMaster2000, a beloved moderator quit due to confusion and chaos of the Halloween contest (or so I have heard). They hired a new guy named MrShoe. While he made some pretty sweet updates, they started getting repetitive, while quite a few being even game-breaking when first released (*cough* zombie potion).

However, the ever-so-greedy fans who were unable to work with all their tools and hundreds of blocks, they wanted more. The game's popularity started going downward, so MrShoe had to find a way to bring in more money. In came...Builder$ Club, and the removal of access to beta. Because of the loss of support for beta, many "veterans" were angered and left, while very of ye few olde players like me have survived today since.

While many have given up, there are some seeds of hope such as me who believe something can be down to prevent this "downfall." Because of EX Crew leaving, there were less examples of good levels to learn from. I, today, still wish to bring back the old atmosphere we once had. The game lives off the community. People like you who are not studying level-building are the reason for the downfall. While this message is very hypocritical, I hope it gets the point across.

I am an example of motivation. It may be hard for me to make a good level, but I will still be proud that I helped with the game.

n1kf stop trying to sell yourself as someone so powerful, please

i didn't even know you made inspirational or creative levels, let alone stopped arguing with your alts to create drama

edit, which alt is your profile? i can't find it to see the inspirational levels

also might be a good idea to take it to pms.

Ugh, why does this keep getting brought up? We have discussed this many times before, and quite frankly no one gives a damn.

Well apparently this Yogfan101 ( \_(•-•)_/ ) guy thinks it matters, I do agree nobody with more than one post cares.

Re: The Downfall Of Ee

Considering it's a flash multiplayer game and has survived for around 3-4 years, EE did last long.

Re: The Downfall Of Ee

I've always said this, I play it because it's a good game. You don't get sandbox games very often, but when you do, it's a hit or miss. EE was, and always will be, a hit.

People just have short attention spans. They're the type of people who play Minecraft for the RPG elements. It's a wonder how they stuck around through Chris' administration.

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Re: The Downfall Of Ee

Since Woot update, I've seen the player count divebombed far down from 1800s to 800s.

I guess you could say Woot update killed EE.

Re: The Downfall Of Ee

I'd have to say a single update did NOT kill ee ,ee at it's peak had 2-2.5k. At first , there were some updates no one liked , taking away a few players. Then MrShoe came , he took away a good 1k.Once MrShoe+mrvoid started making updates , everything went downhill. They changed ee so much, that many of the pros and even some nubs left because of it. By the time MrShoe+mrvoid went on their "vacation" there were only 450-600 users online. The combination of no updates+so many hacking clients+many bugs , the game and its population decayed to the present. Honestly , there is no way for ee to become what it used to be. The mods will never pay much attention to ee , the population that left won't come back. There is no way to revive ee to what it used to be.The best way to keep ee going is to just keep going and see what happens.
