Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

It is difficult to be unbiased in answering that because it is purely an opinion what is right or wrong. In actuality there is absolutely nothing wrong with murder, war, bullying, and anything else. But I believe that trolling takes away hours of time from everyone trolled and can even influence people to commit suicide.
Regarding the punishment question, you are telling people who are trolled that it is their fault, and that they should not give out the edit key to everyone, which is to me, punishment because you are telling them that they cannot do something that does nothing wrong and that you are placing the blame on the victim. The event of trolling is only caused by the troll themself. I see people saying stuff like people are stupid if they give out code to anyone and that is why they troll. The only problem with it is the trolling, which you are contributing to, it is not solving anything, just punishing the person who gave out code to everyone.
I cannot imagine it being impossible to stop all forms of abuse. I really think world peace is easily possible.
I do not see the fact that it is reversible as important. Though I have not said it before, I am fine with trolling friend's worlds as a joke or for related purposes. The problem I have is trolling random people or trolling to make people create better levels, to teach them a lesson, etc, when there is absolutely nothing wrong with what the victims are doing. The fact that I see any harm at all in these forms of trolling, whether or not the damage is reversible, tells me that it should not be permitted.

If you can't handle trolling. Don't play the game. God. When the **** did it get this serious. Suicide? Really? Just turn off the computer

Again, that is putting the punishment onto innocent people rather than trolls who are causing the harm.
People should not be forced to stop playing a game just because some people do not care if they ruin others' experiences.

For me it doesn't matter if they suicide. If they are so dumb that they set a code, and give it out to everyone without saving their work.
There is a reason why /giveedit was added. But I guess people are too dumb to even be able to use it?
Sometime is it good that their gene pool get erased. If it is like the above I have said.

Suicide...? Really? If someone commits suicide because they gave out editing rights and got their crappy world trolled, it's less because of the trolling and more because they might have a tendency to get super hung up on the smallest things. Natural selection at work, nothing else.
Yes, trolling is a punishment for randomly giving out the code. Stupid actions come with repercussions.
If you cannot imagine it being impossible to stop all abuse, you need a new mindset. Punishing abuse is not a way of stopping it. It's a way of reacting to it. In EE, the only possible way to stop ALL trolling is to remove editing powers from everybody other than the level owner.
If you believe that it is impossible to give an unbiased answer to the moral issues of trolling, give a biased one. You did not answer my question, you simply avoided it by saying that morals are solely opinions. This may also be wrong. There is an evolutionary explanation for basic morals, but things like laws and rules are man-made.
To add to that, what counts as damage can also be called a personal opinion.

How is going out code stupid? The only drawback to giving out code is that people might troll. That doesn't make people who are kind enough to give out code stupid, it just means that trolls are cruel enough to take advantage of that kindness.
I said that the moral problems with trolling are psychological harm and the fact that trolling takes away time and effort.
What of all someone has in their life for enjoyment is this game? Cyber bullying is very effective because people are bullied at what is normally the only place they can escape judgement.
People can change their ways. If no one wanted to troll it would be extremely easy to "prevent" trolling. Can you not imagine everyone not wanting to troll?
This is only a game. Nothing to freak over about. /mute, /kick, and /removeedit are all helpful tools in conquering trolling, which is not illegal and should only be regarded as a minor problem.
Please, let's just end this argument/topic now. There really isn't anything to fight about.

I'm saying people who blindly give out the code are stupid. It has nothing to do with kindness. Giving out the code is also not a right or wrong thing to do, as it does not affect the survival of the species or the productivity of the individual.
The "time and effort" taken away can be greatly minimized by saving, which takes 2 clicks, not even 1 second. The levels that do get trolled are usually crap anyway. It does not matter what the level owner thinks of it, if it can be created easily and replicated almost identically after being erased, it's probably crap. Those who create "good" levels are usually not stupid enough to blindly give out the code.
Psychological harm again? I say natural selection. End of story.
Avoid hypothetical situations. Find me one person whose sole source of happiness in life is a multiplayer flash sandbox game designed for kids.
So you wish for uniform ideals, goals, and pursuits? Sounds quite like a large portion of all dystopian novels that I've read. People need to express their different opinions.
EDIT: @Smitty I know it's a game. It's funny to watch people seriously defend things like this that are no big deal by relating them to serious things like murder and suicide.

Trolling is right given to ee players. If you try to sacrifice Freedom for Security, then you deserve to receive neither of them.
He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither.
If you can't accept this as my opinion, then honestly, you can go :O yourself. I really don't care. I'm not going to (or watch anybody else) be "Prosecuted" for what I believe to be a right that everybody should be able to have. When you start alienating people who want to stand up, or express their rights, what does that show of the society?

If given the chance, about 10-25% of the EE community will troll any world.
If trolling was a bannable offence, we would lose a large number of people for both being banned and quitting for absurdity. Not that the game isn't absurd enough as it is now.

I see why you would state your opinion and give him a +rep or -rep. However, spamming him - and + rep is unfair for the other side. You should not spam his rep. His true rep is -5 I can prove.

If you see someone's name twice their other rep was fair for a different reason (not spam rep). Any other rep is considered as repetitive or spam rep which makes it unfair.
Overall he should have -5 rep and simply does not deserve 0 because everyone here has their own opinions and insults are counted as opinions as well. Stop spamming his rep please. Let it be +'d or -'d fairly. We all have our own opinions and our opinions should not be spammed.
EDIT: I will edit this post with his new true rep. Polis and DClevels gave + Addi's - was removed from the list. His new true rep is -2. 16.05.13 OR 05.16.13 (Date of the edit)

All of mine were for different reasons. My first one, was in disagreeing with his opinion on the first post, and thought it was just ridiculous. My second negative rep was because after Different55 asked him how old he was, and he refused to answer, I asked again, just being funny, and he gave me a negative rep falsely saying he did answer it, so I - repped him back. The third one I did was because I looked, and saw that the same people were spamming his rep all the way up, it was at -1 when I looked at it. It was negative for a reason, obviously.
So, since mine were all for different reasons, they should all be listed, oh wait, you wouldn't put anybody who gave two - reps for different reasons, but you did with people who + repped more than once.

Why even make a list of people that give plus or negative reputations?
I guess you care too much about the useless system. Reputations to me, means nothing.
And this thread makes me cringe every day. Too many offended and crying attention seeking suicidal people.

I think I would just forgive Master1 because he realized that trolling wasn't good.
And it's even "sad" that admins like Different55 would join such a mean cause a.k.a. trolling.
How long before TI:1 and TI:2 members wake up and take the same path as Master1?
How will react the other admins about this issue?

@tak4n - While I appreciate the support, I agree with you when it comes down to repping. There's spam rep on both sides.

The majority of the -reps were as intelligent as theHFnetwork's own concepts.
Insults in general are not counted as opinions - maybe to you, but not to me.
He tried/is trying to shove his opinions down our throats as if they are indubitable, unequivocal facts.

Welcome back to your shipwreck of a thread. I agree with Arceus, I have no clue why this isn't locked yet. Leave trolls as they are, as you cannot stop them all. The admins don't care and never did. The forum MODS (Not admins) like Diff are also human. Whther or not they believe trolling is wrong is just as irrelevant as any other EE player's opinion in regard to whether or not it actually is.
Everybody is allowed to express their opinions, that I do not dispute. However, sometimes these opinions are highly are disagreed with by the masses and should not be pushed further.
And you still haven't told us your age...

I opened a to code world, which I like doing, the other day. I specifically put "no trolling" on the map. Everything was fine for an hour or so, friends and strangers were working together in the same level to create random stuff. However a bunch of trolls started coming to the level, where they would attack after receiving the code, and leave as soon as I asked why they were trolling. This continuous attack of trolls went on for an hour or so, making it virtually impossible to do anything. I even accidently saved a trolled version of the map and lost all of the work. It was not at all easy to find the trolls either due to the laggy nature of this computer, and the fact I have to hold down 3 buttons, the wasd keys, and then press printscreen when the troll comes across my screen to even know who it is. I also accidently kicked someone innocent believing that they were a troll. It halted all fun the people there were previously having, and it only has to do with people going to the level and trolling when I specifcally put "no trolling" and that I would report people I found trolling.
There is a problem with saving when people are trolling. Either you do not save, and risk stuff that is currently being made being lost, or save and risk losing stuff people may have tampered with or trolled that you did not see. Due to the trolling there is a constant sense of worry, and it virtually saps all enjoyment one may have gotten from the level.
I must also point out that many of the trolls were also hacking to draw on the minimap while hiding movements, I believe. it was about one in every three trolls who was using this method.
Something important to point out: I put much more effort into the game when I was a "noob" than I am now, or have recently been doing.
While I have "improved" and the art looks "better" than smiley art, it is much easier for me to make art that I make now than it was for me to make smiley art. I think it probably took much longer to fill in the same amount of space, too.

Levels with the code in the title are lame and almost demand to be trolled. To code levels are generally those where you must do something before acquiring editing rights. The code would be the reward, and comes with the ability to edit whatever regardless of what others want. The "rules" are void, as they do not say do not troll. They say don't build anything others do not like. The "troll" can simply claim that they thought they were helping, rendering the "against the rules" argument invalid.
Simply save when you see stuff on the minimap not being screwed over, and you're good. Otherwise, your fault for not taking precautions.
