Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

OrangeCrix's TL;DR: Jawapa is a crazy bigot, nvd is a cheating cheater, ultrabass is a dirty sleaze
The following is written as a response to this message I received:
"Hey MFL,
I know you've distanced yourself from the Everybody Edits spotlight for the last while, but I'm wondering
what your opinions are on the new Guardians? Do you feel that they will do a good job? Are they a good
selection to fill the void of community leadership and moderation left by EX Crew's retirement?
Your fan and friend,
TakoMan02"
I've familiarized myself with the details. I thought I was past being surprised when it came to EE administration. The situation isn't pretty. Typically I'm past commenting on such matters, but I am an advocate of Noblesse Oblige. Let's talk about the new leaders:
JAWAPA
I know the least about Jawapa, so I'll have to rely on some information from the forums that my contacts have relayed me:
First, and most alarming, is a quote from someone who wants to remain anonymous (you can find the event it refers to on the forums if you look far enough):
"SCREW YOU JAWAPA you know you fking lied about your 'designing' ANYTHING. I did the template, I have
the .psds to prove it but obviously what am i sposed to do? Im not gonna talk to Puppy when its not his fault,
its YOURS. But no, u ardy have the money. Congratulsations, u **** screwed me and evryone admires u
for it."
Some of us have become desensitized to angry outbursts over the internet. Regardless of swears and capital letters, we often assume the emotional state of a message's author to be relatively benign and indifferent. But in matters of theft, especially in both creative and financial theft, we can believe that the erratic and uncorrected mistakes come from a place of deep, blinding outrage.
There's no record that shows how, or if, this situation was resolved. However, there are many communications of Jawapa himself which corroborate his character:
"My jaw hit the floor. How the hell does seeing a kid in a wheel chair who has no idea wtf is going on around
him, brighten your day? The kid can't do anything. I know it would be extremely hard to take someone off of
life support, but come on, have them die. WTF IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!?"
"On top of that I think that people bring the remarks onto themselves... allow me to give you an example...
Black People: Majority of the black people I know sag their pants to their knees, do drugs, and talk like
dumba$$es (like: yo dawg, eh jus wen ta da mov-ie an watch cap-n amarca, it was good). This IS how black
people act, FACT... I know this will probably lead to me being raped but oh well..."
As for myself I can only recall one personal experience with Jawapa:
He invited me to play a map of his (it was minis with a big pyramid on top, had an Egyptian feel to it) and asked me to offer a critique. Those of you who have had honest 1-on-1 feedback sessions with me can vouch that I give constructive and detailed feedback when I am asked to. Unfortunately, as I tried to explain the vices of long, dead-end-filled mazes, Jawapa's enthusiasm reversed quickly. Things escalated to profanities and kick threats. . . . Guardians should be able to both withstand and respond positively to feedback and criticism.
NVD
I admit that I am a little unnerved that Nvd has been selected for a Guardian position. I am not sure what kind of dealings have taken place, and in what amount, but certainly there must be some kind of behind-the-scenes agreement to whitewash Nvd's checkered history and lengthily rap sheet. I've been out of the back channels and closed door meetings for a good while, but back when my connections were live and I was tapping them daily, this is what passed through my inbox regarding Nvd:
- The NBot account leak was intentional. The accounts and passwords are sitting in a .txt file available to Nvd and his coder friends. (scouted by a mole who remains unnamed as s/he is still active)
- Aslai's retirement was in part caused by Nvd's constant cracking and redistribution of his saver (animator)
- Used a private, unreleased bot that joined as a ghost into maps and broke keys for 24+ hours or until map emptied (scouted by doh)
Perhaps most disheartening is this 2012 private message intended for Cyph1e but intercepted by our ops team:
"Tell me what u used to do your snake
How do u do !faces??
I will keep crashing Shift until you talk to me "
I'm not sure what else to add. The nbotbomber map clogging abuse? The public spam bots? The world crashing? That he's banned from these very forums? I don't think more is necessary.
ULTRABASS
This name hit me fairly hard. It's the most personal. Quite honestly, if it wasn't for the intimate knowledge I have of events concerning Ultrabass, and if I knew him only by his in-game demeanor, I would be fine with him as a selection for Guardian. However, Ultrabass's volatility in his private affairs has affected a person close to me. This person is probably known to you as well.
The Bass5098 Affair:
Bass5098 would have been the natural pick for Guardian if he were still in the EE scene. Our old forum mod garnered respect early on from both newbies in the community and the veterans of the time. He even contributed to my maps on occasion.
Some of you may have only known him by his current alias - Bash. Those of you who were around for his name change likely thought nothing of it. A reason was never given, and none was needed. But the reason for it was not as trivial as the change itself.
We'll call the girl 'Amanda' to protect her anonymity, since she's a well-known EE player now.
'Amanda' and Bass5098 were semi-close friends on EE. They were even infrequent collaborators. Bass5098 was an older user on EE and held no disproportionate interest for girls on the internet. He knew 'Amanda' was likely a younger player on EE, and he treated her accordingly. 'Amanda' was not as learned when it came to internet relationships and anonymity. Her name on EE included her real name, which was a common name for a girl. This, we know, attracts a certain kind of attention; and so, one day in a map, a user by the name of Ultrabass started to talk to her. 'Amanda', as I've said, was naive. She thought that this was Bass5098's alternate account. She accepted the new, more direct attentions of this 'Bass', and reciprocated, thinking it was the same person.
Bass5098, having other obligations in his life, did not play EE as frequently as younger users. He played mostly on weekends. You can guess how far things can progress between two kids in only a week's time. A seed of false pretense bloomed rapidly into an e-relationship.
I don't know the details of how exactly Bass5098 realized what had happened, or how messy the reveal was, but it happened relatively quickly. Asking him about it then, it was clear that he was on the whole more amused by the situation than disturbed by it, but still . . . having someone assume your identity in order to gain the favor of a young girl on the internet? He was never that close with 'Amanda', but he felt some sense of responsibility to clear up the situation. Bass5098, being the decent guy that he is, saw the name change to Bash as the easiest way to dispel confusion in the EE community.
But what of Ultrabass? Well, the story continues in a private IRC (I won't name the name of it, but it had some other notable EE personalities there who were witnesses).
Ultrabass often came into the chat and complained about his girlfriend. Complained, is a gentle word. After ignoring a few outbursts, I took a personal interest in this guy - and then I pieced together that he was referring to 'Amanda'. I confronted him about his attitude. Then, as he leaked out more details, I confronted him about the identity mix-up. And . . . it came out that Ultrabass was not so naive about how events transpired. He knew who Bass5098 was, as most people did. He actually knew what was happening, when it happened, with him and Amanda. He realized that 'Amanda's enthusiastic reception of him was disproportionate. He knew that she had mistaken his identity. He never corrected it. If I had to guess, the conflict he was constantly blowing up our IRC about was some kind of friction between her and him, when she had to figure out for herself that he wasn't who she thought he was.
I don't want to say that it was this event that caused Bass5098 to lose interest in EE and its community, but the timeline matches up pretty well. It's sad, because our former forum mod would have made a great Guardian in my opinion.
Oh, and besides all the questionable personal stuff, then there’s the fact that this fake Bass stole users away to a stolen clone of the game he’s supposed to now mod. Odd pick for a Guardian.
KINGOFTHEOZONE
Recusing myself from giving an opinion here, as I have both a personal and professional friendship with Kingoftheozone. Make of that fact what you will.

MFL's TL;DR: Hmm, the Guardians will have the ability to ban you and delete your maps. Are you sure you don't want to learn all the facts about them?

the admins and mods don't have friends and enemies
oh no if this is real why would we want people who are of questionably mortality to be something like a rolemodel and have powers
maybe we should stick to the original forum moderators for guardians

Interesting. I assume the guardians' choices were made from the members who kept in touch and discussed with MrShoe about the game and its future. No matter how 'famous' some of us may think we are, all of us are just simple members of the community in his eyes, and he'd pick whoever seemed most familiar and promising to him.

So, I didn't even know you were MFL OrangeCrix.
I think I'm going to burry myself alive tomorrow far away from here haha.
EDIT : You're bringing up important stuff here. I knew I could trust KOTO, I don't know the others, never met them ingame. I do trust you so I would be suspicious about giving them moderator powers.

When you get harassed by people who don't know you, and are just following lies put out, for 2 days straight you get angry.

You shouldn't get angry - you know the incident with abrar11 and I in that lava world, note how I kept my cool (you can't seem to do that)
Thank you eleizibeth ^

No it's not, but I should be able to go into a world and not have me chat spammed with vulgar names and being flamed. But after cooling down and talking to a few people, it will continue. People still do the same to MrShoe. I guess I just need to suck it up.

Update: I've just been kicked from the level.
High probability of a conspiracy of some sort; stay alert for future updates
All I gotta say is MrShoe...ARE YOU HIGH OR DRUNK!? I'm sorry but I only trust KingOfTheOzone with being a Guardian and with my world..if I find any of my worlds edited other than by KingOfTheOzone then I will complain to MrShoe and personally ask for that person's perms to ripped from them. You have been warned other Guardians.
Thanks Bobithan for the sig, love it <3 "You will never know how valuable a thing or a person is...until its not with you anymore, then you`ll regret..."

@Tako - Lmao
@Bobyy - As you should. Guardians are not supposed to go around messing up people's worlds, they are supposed to control harassment, crashing, and spam. I would expect nothing less than for you (or anyone else) to request us to be removed. If a guardian is not doing what they are supposed to, they should be removed anyway.

Lmao are you high too? How the hell are we supposed to know if a guardian edited it or not?
And you're saying that like you're going to be guardian, even though it won't happen.
As bobby said, i only trust KingOfTheZone.
If you get guardian, i'm not gonna wait for a ban, i'm just going to quit this game already.
Waiting for EE do finally die in agony.
