Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I try not to care about EE so much, because I've been trying to detach myself from the game, but ever since this whole guardians controversy I've been pretty ticked off about the way people are acting.
Truth, if you play EE, and always follow the rules, then you have nothing to fear. The guardians are only here to help us. Almost everyone I've seen who is anti-guardian is a well respected players whom I doubt would be banned. So why do you care?
People think, guardians can clear my worlds, guardians can give edit, guardians can ban me. Well for starters, the guardians won't ban anyone who is doing the right thing, which is pretty much everyone on this forums. Will the guardians clear someones world? Maybe. While I am a supporter of the arts, it is important to remember EE was designed as a game for children. Anything which is rude, offensive, or just completely inappropriate does not need to be in EE. So if a world gets cleared, I'm sure there is a good reason. As for the edit? There have been multiple reports on the powers of the guardians, and so for this I am not sure.
Many have claimed, well look at Ultrabass who gave Abrar edit and then took it away. Not that it was right of him to do, but no damage was done. It was nothing more than a mere joke spiraled out of control. Abrar could have effectively done nothing in that moment he was given edit, and it was really only more of a request to see what the guardians can do.
Then there is the whole Meridith/Jawapa ban. Truth, bans can come from misunderstanding. I was banned once unlawfully about a year ago. I emailed Julian and we worked things out. So too did Meridith, and she is now unbanned. It was a mistake, that hopefully will not happen again.
Truth, the only significant thing a guardian has done which I can understand as wrong, was the conversation between Jawapa and Fdoou in which Jawapa called Dclevels an idiot.
So why are we shaming the guardians?
Their aura is purple? Why does this matter? When moderators were prevalent flying with their golden glow, it was a privilege to bask in their specially colored aura. Now we cry of abuse, that people are treating their guardianship as nothing more than a popularity contest. However, we don't know what goes on with reports. We don't know what the guardians have been doing to help the game, and that is because people are too busy nit picking all the things they have done wrong, that they are too busy to see what they have done right.
Maybe, their contribution is little to none, but if that's the case then why do we cry? What are we so afraid of? When guardians were declared Atilla deleted the forums. Albeit it was only a half an hour affair, isn't that a little over the top? When guardians were instated they were silenced on the forum before even being given a chance to talk. When Meridith got banned, she threatened to effectively destroy EE via chat spamming bots if she didn't get unbanned the following day. Meridith is now hosting a guardians removal level. Countless topics have been made with libel to make the guardians look bad.
If you ask me, the only real problems with the guardians is they way we've been treating them. Not one person, aside from Meridith, and perhaps Dclevels, has any right to complain. The guardians have hurt no one, because no one on these forums deserves it. We are, for the most part, active and respectable players. We make levels, play together, and have fun. Why would the guardians change that?
Truth, EE is no different since the guardians have been instated since it was before they were instated. The game hasn't changed, it's the players. So instead of wasting all our efforts trying to destroy a force, which isn't even bad, why don't we help them?

Not going to comment on the rest of the post because I've already sent a few hundred word piece to shoe.
About 30 threads has been made saying the same thing, we don't need to continue this nerd battle with babies who cries because they don't approve an update on a pixeled 2D game. It won't change your life.

So why did you respond?
@Meredith: I fixed all the typos, I think. Let me know if there are more. Also, thanks for mentioning libel. I've been trying to remember that word forever, since I know it goes hand in hand with slander.

Why did i respond? to make you delete this useless thread.

Never. As long as I still play EE, I'm gonna participate in the community.

This thread is not useless. Your comments that you are making here are useless.
Completely agree with everything in the op

No, we've already heard the same thing x10000²²²²²², everyone is making a thread about their opinions
I agree with Calicara, clearly some people are jealous and expected themselves to be Guardians.
Then why are you sharing your opinion :O
Then why are you sharing your opinion :O
I'm sick of all the anti-guardian crap, it's really getting on my nerves.
I'm fine with guardians as long as they don't abuse their power.
I am jealous about that pretty purple aura though, wah..
I have yet to see Guardians do anything positive, not even from an avid supporter of them, yourself.
They, as a whole, are unable to fix the issues that have caused damage to EE - adding a bunch of authorities will not make a community grow. MrShoe realises this, hence why he fixed guests - he didn't rely on Guardians to fix it for him.
People seek to find friends and, many friends have fights, which ultimately can, and usually does, make friendships stronger.
With Guardians, that whole role is demolished, and any harassment that can be done, Guardians can do effectively nothing about.
If someone is being mean to another person, there's a command for that: /mute.
Banishing someone for mere conflict is essentially disregarding everything about human relationships and causing more conflict between the two users, and ultimately, the entire community itself.
MrShoe points out that swearing is intolerable, and Guardians are tasked to remove swearing users from a room.
What he doesn't realise is that, many people, including myself, are fine with hosting rooms with swearing allowed.
If users have a problem with that, they can either leave, or if room owners have a problem with it, they can kick the users themselves.
I do not need a friend of mine being banned from every room, because of swearing which II, and others, are perfectly fine with.
As a totality, any person that is banned for mere swearing does much more damage to the community than it fixes within the game itself.

I forgot about /mute, huh. I guess the whole guardian thing really is unnecessary, then.
adding a line to the tos of everybodyedits would help,
"the owner of the room is responsible for the content in it."
alright, that might not fix the issue itself and might be a way to - whatever. but giving the owner of a room more options of handling spam etc. (like a ip-ban, static ranks to give away etc.) would fix a lot. and if the "big" issue is the young kids being exposed to things they hear at the school all day, well. add a button which says something like "change content warnings" where you could set if the world contains swearing/explicit content/etc.
but wow. that's over complicated and kinda unneeded. does minecraft have any system in that direction? no. does happyweels have a system in that direction? no.
guardians should handle everybodyedits attacking stuff. like spambots and things in that direction. not that mini-modding part. but that's my opinion. i am OK with them. 5/10. it really depends on who is guardian.
(PS: didn't proofread this.)

@Atilla: I agree with everything you are saying. I am not a huge fan of micro-management any more than the next person.
However, I also don't care that guardians are a thing. Since there are guardians in EE I have seen more people acting out then ever before. I have seen players specifically create alts or go out of their way just to make the guardians look bad. Realistically though, this behavior is childish and only makes us, the community, look very immature.
I don't think guardians are the answer, but Julian apparently does. So I will do the best I can to respect his game. My problem is more with the angry protestors who seem to think cherry picking pictures, and creating libel against the guardians is going to make them go away. Truth, that will only make things worse.
There are only two solutions, in my opinion. One, we can continue to email Julian/Brian with angry rants, hoping that the guardian system will be removed. Or, we could show how respectful and mature we are as a community, thus proving there is no need for guardians. Guardians might still exist, but they might fade out over time if they don't have any real use. I much prefer the latter resolution to the former, but you know I can certainly understand why people might be upset.
EDIT: Also, as for swearing, I don't care about swearing either. I haven't run into that as an issue yet. I hang out with Jawapa a lot though, and I've only ever seen him kick someone in another level once, but that person was, again, going out of their way to say horrible things to Jawapa for no reason.
P.S.@Azure: I know I want purple aura too @_@

The thing about mute is the majority of the player base either simply doesn't know or forgets about the mute tool. So if all sorts of players cussed non-stop and the room owner is whatever, it's the Guardian's role to kick those players.
Other roles Guardians do to the EE environment :
=>ban account hackers / users that are static (annoying spam/fraud bots et cetera) and (major) shared characters
=>delete obscene/outright-bad worlds (po**ographic minimap, severe threat worlds such as possible real-life terrorism and the like, offensive title or offensive minimap et cetera)
=>be friendly to the community, help depressed players in EE (I have seen players who said they had no friends in school and they felt like hanging their selves or something similar)
=>looking out for problems in worlds in general (basically all of the above)
That's why Guardians are necessary. They smoothen out some edgy areas around EE.

Commands just need to be more user friendly. The little icon next to player names should bring up a small menu with a few options, including "View Profile," and "Mute Player." There could also be "Add as Friend," "Give Edit," "Remove Edit," and "Kick Player," with the latter three for world owners.
If /mute is unknown to most players, adding guardians isn't a fix to that. A fix to that is making players more aware of that option. Make it more user friendly. Anyone can mute others, but guardians can't be around in every world at every time.

Good idea, should email MrShoe

Actually, I think I should be added to your list of people who are allowed to complain: I had problems with Ultrabass giving away edit and turning off potions in the zombie world I was making. He left when I started asking why random people had edit.

Amen.
And I just have one thing to say- The guardians mainly are responsible for sifting through reports. It doesn't matter if there is a /mute command, people are still bound to /report. Obviously MrShoe didn't want to deal with these, and that's his choice. So he implanted guardians.
I do think howeverthat JaWapa does have questionable character, and I question why he was made a guardian. This is entirely based on his..um... deliberately rude forum posts.
BUT lets be real.. This game and forum feeds of drama and complaining! WHat would we be without it?

Okay i think ultrabass should lose Guardianship.

This in a nutshell. I can't remember there ever being a time when we got an update when there wasn't complaints. Then usually like a week later I make a topic telling everyone to shut up, ignoring the fact it never usually works. Then people continue to be butthurt jellybeans for about a month until the wave dies down. Then we quietly accept things as normal until a new update arises.
