Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Would it be a bannable offence giving people $̶3̶ $1 for chat?

If this pay-for-chat thing stays.

I was thinking I could send $3 to deserving people's paypal accounts (you don't need a bank card attached to it) so they can unlock them, it would be 'bypassing parental blah blah' but I could say it was for something else - would it be a bannable offence anyway?

(posting this because 1. I don't want to get banned 2. I disagree with locked chat 3. some of you guys don't have chat)

(If it does stay PM me your paypal address [email] if you think you deserve chat, I will have a limit per week)

Should you PM me yet? no, soon..

I would second Squad in this movement. I support chat for mature users.

Technically they can't prove that that was where we got the $3 because they would have to be on these forums which they are not. Also, you're really generous giving money to random people lol.

Shared accounts will not be funded.

Do I count as a "deserving" person? I just realized I don't have chat (back in those days I had nobody to chat to lol). Don't want to seem greedy, just wondering.

I'm not going to publicly announce who I think deserves it.

I personally do not believe it's a bannable offense. Giving $3 to people is like giving a gift.

The whole point of paid chat is for 'mature' players to be able to buy chat.

There are multiple ways of doing this:
1. Player is old enough to buy chat for themselves with their PayPal/credit card.
2. Player asks parents, who can judge if they are mature enough.

Whether a friend/forumer/stranger/etc buying chat follows this rules is a bit ambiguous, I'd say. It brings into question the maturity of not only the player, but the friend/forumer/stranger/etc buying the chat, and whether they should be able to make a judgement call.

My advice: Don't go around advertising it.

I have not yet bought chat for anyone for 3 reasons:
• Don't want to be banned
• Considering if it is a good move to make
• Is the chat going to be opened again soon?

why should it get you banned. nobody can prove you were the one who transfered 1$ to a random account lol. you can do whatever you want with your mony. also there is no rule against in the tos. therefore you're safe.

Chat should be free to everyone, immature or don't, if that person abuse, he loses the chat, making a new account will not work.

This is a false statement.

I think you should stop paying money for chat and just wait for a while. MrShoe said that this pay to chat thing is a "temporary solution". It will probably soon become free for people who put a bit of effort in the game. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

I've talked with MrShoe about a few possible options to keep the chat free while preventing bots from abusing it and I'm pretty sure this pay to chat system is not going to stay.

I have never thought of programming for reputation and honor. What I have in my heart must come out. That is the reason why I code.

I've also talked to him - there are other solutions, and I haven't bought chat for anyone yet - it was more of a last option.
