I don't see why players think EE will die without chat

I don't see how. All the "Facebook" noobs who always chat on EE will leave. Who will come to replace them? Better players!

Before there was only quick chat. EE was popular. After chat became free, the better players thought EE lost its meaning. Population declines.

And now we're back to pay chat. Wait a few months like this and we'll increase in population. Watch. My predictions are magical.

No, if a player leave, he will not come back for a long time. The main focus of everybody edits is chatting and getting friends, worlds are just for fun, removing the chat was likely removing the gameplay.

Just because EE was popular when there wasn't chat doesn't mean that chat being disabled was the reason it was popular.
The people that have joined recently 2011+ are not used to having chat disabled. They probably aren't happy with it.

The point of the game is to create fun worlds and play them too, not chat with your friends. If you want to, however, you can simply go to the shop and purchase chat for 1$ USD. It hasn't been removed, it's just not free anymore.

This made me cringe a little bit.
You're acting like you have to pay 30$ to get chat. You don't. You only need to pay 1$ (or 2.48 BRL). Only 1$. One. Uno. Um. ?. How can you NOT afford that?

For the last time, this game is called "Everybody Edits", not "Everybody Chats". You don't need to have chat to make a really cool world that everyone likes. How come you weren't like this before they made chat free?

well. lets say you lose your ability to talk in real life. because why not? its not the main point to talk in life. the main thing in life is staying alive.

this is a game. its entertainment. lets look around. which well played game doesnt offer free chat? if the game is played mostly by really young people who need to be protected, change it. attract older players. lol. i mean really. this whole oh my god so much young people here we need to protect them before anything is just stupid. if they make 3 steps out of the door they can meet people who say them these so-much-bad words.

i think the main reason for disabling chat again is people exploiting it and the lazyness of the devs to build a proper anti-spam system. where is the account verification? why do we even need to enter a email? why is there no automatic ip ban? to hard to code? no modded client protection? REALLY?

ee will die just because of that lazyness. if nothing changes it will. slowly. disabling chat will screw players. because if you give someone a free candy and take it away, the person hates you. if you give your kid always pocket money, and then just take it at a unreasonable time away, your kid will hate you.

for a long time people wanted beta back. why? because they owned it. taking something away youre used to have is BAD.

the main goal of ee should be at the moment to make it as player friendly as possible. attracting new players. ee is only fun with others. in my opinion. people stay longer somewhere when they have friends. how do you make friends? talking i guess. conversations.

whatever.

Had a chat with Shoe today on skype. He is thinking about alternative ways to enable chat.

One was about chat being enabled at lvl-12,
the other idea was about guardians enable chat. This is not a good idea.
Another idea was about some kind of trial period and afterwards chat is enabled.

Well if you think your parents will never pay for it, then they really won't. Have you tried asking? If they say no, you gotta really pester. And if that doesn't work then wait a while and ask for it again later. Repeat until you're successful.

I'm trying to detach myself from the game, but this is my exact opinion. Also, I never saw anything in EE's chat worse than a typical conversation you'd find in most games' communities.

@Creature Since you're Brazilian, you could try adding money to Paypal with the "boleto bancário". No credit card needed, just a travel to your local LAN house and loteria.
