I quit this game a long time ago.
And compared to then, it's basically abandoned.

I don't even know who this "MrShoe" guy is, but according to you people, he seems to be the main reason.

It already has. Like Betaguy said, MrShoe is probably the cause. At the beginning the updates were nice, but they became irrelevant and unnecessary. Now they're not updating at all. I don't think anyone is working on this game anymore.

Basically, Chris hired him to get more updates in, and he was doing... okay, but then he started catering way too much to the younger and newer audiences, slowly turning the game essentially into an RPG, just as we never wanted. He also made removals of key features of the game, including the old magic system, and replaced it with a level up system of magic that blocks you from obtaining certain items until you grind up a ridiculously high level.

That's how I remember it, anyway.

I know right! I'm not saying MrShoe is the best, but I mean, he's made some pretty decent updates, but some pretty bad ones too. The past is in the past. We can't change it (but we could change the game)

He's brought us many new blocks, features, potions, and even new world types, yet people complain. This community never seems to be satisfied.

New features doesn't always mean good features.

Surely, there's some okay ones, but many of them were very repetitive.

Not only that, but he basically ruined many of the factors of the game and made additions that were simply not good.

▼Some examples

- RPG-like magic system that overwrites the old one, meaning players cannot increase their energy level and players with already raised energy level have unfairly higher amounts than the newer players.
- Limitations to which items you can obtain unless you play the game constantly
- The blocking of pretty much every block being allowed to be used in open worlds, which are the roots of the game, and not even allowing certain blocks that were available back in the "golden days" of EE
- The removal of the ability to buy Beta, and replaced with a non-permanent and overpriced system called "Builders Club" which allows players to cheaply buy pretty much everything in the game with no time put in, as well as blocks that can only be used by Builders Club members, which only activate as a block for other players if they are members.
- Very easily abusive potions; which can be toggled, but in old worlds are by default enabled thus ruining the challenge or fun in many places. (Notable: Protection: Blocks you from dying of hazards; Levitation: Obvious reasons; Zombie: Infects and debuffs speed- and jump-wise to ALL players you touch; Curse: Pass a curse to other players that forces them to die in one minute)
- Woots, turning the game into a miniature Facebook
- A friend system based on e-mails instead of usernames, requiring players to share their e-mail to other players whom may not be trusted in order to add others

I'm beginning to shift away from EE now and do other stuff.
I want to be more active then play a dead game.

EE wont die until we let it die. I personally still love the game and enjoy making levels, and I know koto does as well. I think MrShoe is beginning to take the right steps towards renewing peoples interest in the game. He is starting to listen to the community, and updating accordingly. This game can become big again and all it takes is for more people to play it. I think everyone should know that they are being listened to now. If you have ideas or complaints or anything, now is the time to start actually telling the moderators. I think we generally got in the habit of not speaking to the mods because they simply didn't respond.

EE is dying and everyone knows it, even MrShoe. This is the reason he's trying to bring it back. In my opinion, a contest would be a great start.

the only reason i come back to the game itself is because it's just so easy and fun to make a level. i've never seen any game where making a top quality level is this easy.

EE wont die until we let it die. I personally still love the game and enjoy making levels, and I know koto does as well. Thank you, somebody thinking at least half-positive. MrShoe has brought us some good things in the past, and I think we should put more faith in him. If enough people at least try, something will at least happen. MrShoe is surprisingly good at answering emails, so I think people should actually give feedback or contact the moderators if they have concerns.

I think EE is going to start to come back a life soon. Mr.Shoe has come back from never updating the game for a year. Now if Mr.Shoe keeps updating it regularly then we have the first steps completed. NSFW Crew is, as far as I'm aware, a very organised crew made of experienced players. I'm positive all of NSFW's worlds will be awesome which is also a good start, as long as they remain active. I think, like others, that a contest or community event (eg - the worm by Megalamb) would help bring the community back.

When you play while the majority of EE who live on the other side of the world are asleep...
Personally the worst I've seen is 42 players (excluding lag) and deciding to quit if it ever dips below ~25.
It slightly annoys me to have to lie to my friends that my favourite game is some other game and not this because EE is a little bad.
