Oroville Dam failure: potential catastrophe. Please pray for us

I don't know if anyone has heard this yet, but the tallest dam in the United States has had a spillway failure. A hole has developed/eroded its way yesterday, flooding parts of Oroville and nearby cities/towns etc.

That's just the icing on the cake. A huge gaping hole has formed in the main spillway, and if it continues to grow it can destroy a large part of the dam infrastructure. If the e-spillway with the hole erodes too much, a 30 foot wall of water will flow into the Feather River, which joins along a huge river system that flows down the valley into the delta out into the ocean.

Right now, things are better. However there is about to be ANOTHER relentless storm coming. This is BAD. The entire valley from Oroville to Stockton will be FLOODED. Millions will need to evacuate. Please, if you are able, support or pray for our safety. This can potentially be one of the costliest floods in us history.

A similar accident happened here in Brazil in 2015, you said "water" so I hope it doesn't look like this

this was in 2014, wasn't caused by a dam or anything but it was pretty bad but didn't reach the part of serbia where i live

yes very likely so drought no need for drought anymore we flood! many times but dam water still drought water b4 and after had drought so in a drought still but still

Dams were made so rivers wouldn't flood. Without dams we'd have to rebuild communities and cities every several years.

Most dams are bad ideas. Many artificially create lakes that could cause catastrophe if the dam somehow malfunctions. If we made a more levee like system or made something that prevented the build up of water (or at least side effects of it) instead of majorly building it up in one area so another has a lot less, we wouldn't have to deal with these major malfunctions.

Miniature dams would require a lot more money and will be more prone to overflowing. Larger dams provide crucial energy sources as well.
