Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Seriously though. this game is not welcoming for new people.
One of the most obvious factors are the players who have been playing for a while. Instead of helping out new people, most people basically DOMINATE noobs like its some sort of achievement. New players will feel very discouraged to play. Also new players are usually hard to come by. They will pick to play the worlds that have the most plays, likes, online since those are the ,,best,, ones. But maybe they don't like things like Bombot like 95% of the community does. And by logic, the rest of the game cant be any better. And since these are the most popular worlds, you wont even notice them there.
Secondly, campaigns. These are basically the main levels of EE and offer prizes for completion. Players start off easy, playing tutorials, ancient ruins, puzzles, and then they realise Endurance and FFS exist. Most of us love to fully complete things, since mentally our brains are programmed like that. And if we only complete a few easy levels, we will struggle at harder ones and start thinking negatively about it. And i'm not even gonna talk about the limited time campaigns.
Thirdly, it's confusing. The closest they can relate this game to is actually facebook because of the whole energy system, not a sandbox platformer game! Also, everyyyyyyything is friggin expensive. Logical people will want the bigger worlds first, but 8000 energy is like 10 days, most likely more. Ain't no one got time for that. Even if they buy the worlds, there's still all the blocks, all the decorations, backgrounds and smileys! And limited number blocks (well yeah this will be fixed but stilll....)
I seriously think one of the next updates should make things easier for new players. More easier campaigns, maybe some starter packs, maybe one pack for half price when you start the game. Anything!

If seeing other people doing better than them makes people rage, then they aren't the people we want in the community.
Campaigns don't make people quit, that makes literally zero sense.
I do agree that the shop is intimidating, but that's the price of having a lot of content. It does need some work though.

fixed yo post for readability. brotip: add spaces after punctuation; it goes a long way into making it easier to read.
...and i'm going to respectfully disagree that the puzzles campaign is easy, mostly because i spent hours on water levels and had around five people helping me.
As for the rest of it, I pretty much agree. we HAVE to do something about the sheer amount of blocks in the shop. It's daunting and saying "pay real cash to get all of these" shouldn't be the only solution. Bobithan's shop nerf topic brings about some viable ways to fix it. A lot of people who are experienced with games similar to EE are going to take one look at that shop and be like, "ah, yes, of COURSE i have to wait an ungodly amount of time to get all these things," whereas younger players are just gonna be like. disheartened at it. I'm not saying people should be able to get a ton of packs in one day, but it should be made easier. Yeah, energy is free and it doesn't have to be, but that kind of encourages people who are hardcore players; the type of people who come back day after day and spend hours on it. EE is more of a casual game, to be honest. where you don't no-life it. yes, you have people who dedicate way too much time and effort into it (hint: that's probably pretty much everyone on the forums. also EX is #1 in Being Hardcore On A Casual Game) but... the "average player" wants to have fun. not wait weeks and weeks to get things to have fun. why should we force new players to "experience" ee as we did back in 2010, where all we had were two packs, a spoon, dirt, and had to walk uphill both ways while it's sleeting just to log in. jesus. just give 'em RPG's packs or something. they're ancient.
Campaigns don't make people quit, that makes literally zero sense.
campaigns don't make dedicated players quit. i can see how it might make an absolute newb quit.

Your first point. the logic of people possibly not liking the top level in the lobby is kind of bad. No one likes all kinds of levels whether it be bot, art, mini, etc. So you can never get levels up there that everyone will like, so logically it just will never happen. If someone was at all interested in playing this game I would hope they would check out a few more things other than the top level, such as checking campaigns, going in their home world, or anything else really.
Your second point. I don't get why having hard levels in a campaign is bad. If it is categorized as hard or extreme, then it's going to be hard and it would make sense that new players can't finish them spending some time on the game. That's basically saying everything in this game has to be easy to abide to those who just started or is not good at playing. It still alienates a group, albeit a different one, but still. Having difficulties are a good way to judge how far you progressed on being a player and those extreme levels could also be a goal for them to reach, which would make them stay and finish it. they aren't meant to be all completed in a day, especially for new people.
Your third point. There have been multiple topics, about the shop and that very issue, Here is one from bobithan's nerf shop topic, and I agree with it needing fixed. Being someone from when the game didn't update during mrshoes vacation (also luckily because I could catch up), it was pretty intimidating looking at everything you could get, and that fact you had to wait to do something if you got an idea without the blocks sucked. The limited block thing should help it, but not by a lot to be honest, because there is still a ton for people to process on what they want to do with energy if they are just starting.
Also, I believe new players now get a tutorial when entering the game, which should at least introduce where everything is for them.

rgl32:
Im not saying all campaigns should be easy, but it feels like 2-3 of them can actuly be considered fun and easy. The rest, however, are when the fertilizer hits the fan.Endurance, FFS, Colorfull, Tunnel Rats, Puzzle Pack (yeah its really hard for people for some reason) maybe even Adventure League are the levels that can drive any new player to madness and/or quitting.I should also mention minigames that feel like they are overly difficult, long or misplaced.
Not even gonna talk about not finishing a level and having to go, getting outclassed by someone from 2010 or having to ragequit beacuse its 3 hard 5 them

can confirm i like to dominate noobs
Maverick: Started up on a 6, when he pulled from the clouds, and then I moved in above him.
Charlie: Well, if you were directly above him, how could you see him?
Maverick: Because I was inverted.

Just wanted to say I'm reading this topic and taking notes.
About the "casual vs hardcore" debate: rgl32 is more of a hardcore player, Luka504 probably more casual; we want to cater to both. Currently there are more harder ones than easy ones, also because good easy levels are relatively rare. New ones will be coming soon though.
Keep talking.

Im to lazy to read can someone tell me what we are speaking about?
I've been saying that people are mean to new players for months, so I completely agree.
I also agree that there should be more variety in campaign levels. Guess how many I've been able to beat? The tutorial one. I've tried the others but they're honestly ridiculous (for my skill level) unless you care to spend hours playing.
I also don't have all the items in the shop, and I have over 1000 energy and have been playing for five years. I've made Alts to see how easy it is to start out with nothing, and it's nearly impossible with the measly 200 you're provided with. It takes forever to even get a world big enough to do anything in. Maybe just start new players out with more than the bare minimum? maybe each world size and a good range of blocks?
Good topic :^)

Not to mention that yes, you indeed have to do everything again, but after the first time it gets easier.
At first there was no position saving at all and it was fair.
Now there is a 30 (some people say 15? Anyone please confirm) minute period of time in case you crash.
The lag is big and that could just happen to you. You have time even to restart the computer,
sue the internet provider and get a cookie and still have time to come back and continue your work.
No one said that your progress will be saved whatever there would happen. A permanent location save would make campaigns too easy,
because anyone could beat any difficulty of minigames. You'll advance eventually.
The mods heard the first cry of 'plz mods, campaigns are not beatable, you crash in the middle of the level' and they fixed their side,
the one referring to lag but that's it. If you can't beat harder campaigns, train, be willing to spend much time trying or try it later.
There are campaigns for everyone.

If you're too lazy to read, get off the forums. I'm not entirely sure how you expect us to tell you what we're talking about via words when you're too lazy to read.

Something that honestly shocked me about five minutes ago was learning that new players don't even get a massive world or anything.
what are u DOIN ee
you can't do anything in a homeworld. except maybe say. wow. this game sucks.

Falk what are you talking about
We (well, I was at least) were talking about the difficulty curve of the levels, not the fact that our progress can be saved. What good does that do if we can't beat the mini games themselves? Just saying "there are campaigns for everyone" doesn't make it true. There clearly aren't, as shown by this thread. All I'm saying is we need a more gentle lead in to the finger bimpsing campaigns.
@Zoey- I know right? New players literally can't do anything when they first join. They have like a tiny **** world and extremely limited block choices. Then they get yelled at for making stair levels when thats literally all they can make lol
