Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Just about nothing.
Being nice to everyone just makes a safe space, and being mean to everyone doesn't work here because there's a ton of little kids.
Interact with the community as little as possible and pray it gets better?

That's true. Often not chatting would be better than chatting.

So in conclusion, the best thing you can do for the community is leave and never come back. You never really belonged here, hexagon. You created way too much Quality Content™ to ever fit into this place.
Legit question: Why did you even stay this long?

Go around and call players pro.
Try making something nice to players play, they will praise you.
This is a false statement.

Make good levels. Admonish noobs. Don't support bad worlds even for magic (ie: 200 easy minigames).

I'm extremely interested in data, and everybody edits users generate a lot of data. More than I would have imagined.
There are other users interested about this too if you want provide some more info, surprise us, that thread you made about EE statistics was great!

Tell people that make bad worlds they suck and tell them good worlds to learn from
Exactly this, go to worlds and tell them what they fail on, people usually learns from errors.

Didn't really read anything of this thread (besides the op), but wanted to say one thing.
I think you're title is somewhat wrong: "How can I make the community better?"
I think it's not about one person. It's about us. I already won great friends through EE, some of them even don't play anymore - but we're still in contact.
It's about how we interact with each other.
Next, it's intended to be a kids game, means there should be a lot of them.
Question: Look at a class, 3th-5th grade. How do you sozialize with them?
Most of the time you just need to be friendly, help out, or start random conversations OR be a bad ****.
Also, what would be a "better" community in your eyes?
If you want one which is more mature, a (as I said before) kids game won't be really the right choice.
You would need to change the fact "it is a kids game".
If you want less people asking for edit, maybe a proper talk about EE's etiquette with someone would be neat.
But remember. They are mostly damn young.
If you want better worlds, maybe my first idea would help, -
also educate them how a good world would look in your opinion and teach them the basics.

Best thing to do is just stay and collect data then, you can later get a job at some datamining company and screw people over that way.

You raise a good point about this. The title was going to be revised, however it was thought that if one said that "we" should make the community better, it insinuates that everyone is not trying their hardest. However, the community is a team, and we are all apart of the team, so your revision makes more sense.
Also, what would be a "better" community in your eyes?
That's the main topic of this thread; the community has to decide how to improve its self and how others can help.
Your comments have been appreciated, as they contribute to the discussion and help clarify some unanswered questions.

I think saying Everybody Edits is a "kids' game" would be an inaccurate term. I think of Everybody Edits like a tool. If you give a pencil to a kid, they will probably draw very simple pictures with meaning, yet perhaps unrealistic and childish (and I do not mean this in a bad way). If you give a pencil to a talented artist, they will probably draw something very creative and with much detail. Everybody Edits and pencils (along with any other tools inspiring creativity and art) both have this in common. The community itself is like a big non-organized art club, with each player given their own choice. Some choose to draw simple things they just find entertaining, while others choose to seek artistic status or even messing with others' creations.
People have fun in their own ways, whether amateur, professional, or messwithotherpeople-ish. I think that people are too caught up in punishing the "bad" ("noobs") rather than promoting the "good". My ideal vision of the game would accept all players and not try to push out a certain group (besides those that are threateningly problematic, which lots of players are not), yet just promote the best aspects of each.

I agree with you. But what I've meant is:
It's as a game for kids intended.
It looks that way. It attracts kids because of that.
In my opinion that's quite sad, because it could be so much more.
Offline
You seem to think that the game itself is bad, simply because kids play it. I was going to make a more detailed response to that, but ask yourself these questions so I can understand what makes you feel this way: What is it they do that is bad, and harms the game? Why does it make it "sad" simply because the game attracts kids? Would you want to stop kids from making amateur LEGO creations simply because more mature and experienced people may do so in a "better" way?
