Cookies usage?

EE loves cookies, you can't play without feeding it with cookies.
Besides knowing whether a player have read a newsletter or google analytics,
why does the game need cookies?
is it used to see if two players is the same dude?

They use flashcookies aka LSO. If you clear the flashcookies you need to login again, and again.
If you use Firefox you can always download BetterPrivacy, and clear the flashcookies/LSOs.
