Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

EE is really made up of units that we, as a community and a whole, use to create levels. *cough* I mean gravity arrows and bricks. There are many types of each, and it is for that reason that so many levels vary from eachother. But! What they do is the most important part of making a level. Like any other level creating program you must know the functions of each tool you want to use. There may even be some hidden features you never knew about, but that's not in EE. With each feature of an instance(object) comes a new way to combine and utilize it/with other instances. I feel we have reached a point in which people don't realize the true potential of EE anymore.
Let me explain...
As a famous reference, I will compare EE to... (drum roll).... (rick roll).... (barrel ro- PORTAL. Now... what does portal have that EE doesn't? Aside from the fact that it's a 3D game, there's reallly not much of a difference. You have your instances, your functions, and most importantly the player itself ready to "test" each feature. But... did you know... Portal is unique from any/most game/s ever created? Portal extrapilated (if you will) the idea of having multiple instances merged into one, and placed multiple times throughout a level to create a puzzle. This idea has not yet been fully embraced by the EE community. Yes, we are a whole, but I speak as an individual when I say we need to change level making... for the most part...
As some of you know I actually attempted to re-create most/all elements included in Portal/2 in various short-lived levels. This was a start... No, there weren't any actual portals/recreations, but it still served as a mighty fine level idea.
Now, I'm not saying we don't already have these "multiple instances merged into one" already, for example the hook jump; but I am saying that we need to start embracing the idea of these creations a bit more, you know, to create better levels? Even throughout Portal, I really emphasize the idea of introducing new "modules" every few sections of your level.
This is what EE really could be you guys. Now you're probably saying "if you think that then go make it yourself". That's not the idea here. I encourage, maybe even challenge, EVERYONE to take this idea and make it their own.
Do it for the community... do it for the whole.
