Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Chris is a ****. He updates the game that completely changes the minimap, oblivious to the fact that there is a cutthroat contest going on, and he decides to eff up the game right at the last minute, better yet, he ruins the fully black blocks and invisible backgrounds, which was useful for my level to indicate arrows on where to go, but apparently, NO, let's be our **** self and update the game like a total moron. I bet dazz is having a fun time fixing his level as am I, and everyone else.
Chris, Linus2.1 is smarter than you.
I agree.
I'm pretty pure this is the second time he messed up the pure black blocks.

I'm enjoying the update. It helps me (one extra week woot!) and screws a lot of other people.

It's just a game. Chill out. 3 months ago, you would be begging for an update as soon as possible.
Lol Chewy is right also I like the backgrounds update it helped my contest's group map.
Thanks Bobithan for the sig, love it <3 "You will never know how valuable a thing or a person is...until its not with you anymore, then you`ll regret..."

Yeah, if I wasn't in a contest where nothing should be changed so you can win. I would be fine with that.

If humans couldn't adapt, we wouldn't be here right now. Maybe you complainers are weak links?

You still have not answered. Why is it so wrong to expect competence?
There is literally no reason that Chris could not have waited until after the contest was over to implement this change. Instead, he essentially changed the terms of the contest close to the end of the contest, forcing many creators to completely rework what they had already done.
If you don't see anything wrong with that, perhaps you need to reassess things.

Maybe he thought that adding new shades will make maps better, and you do want the best map you can make right? This is just assumptions though.
Agreed... My level is ruined, some of you are lucky it became better

There are a hundred thousand tools Chris could add that could make the maps better. You don't change the terms of a contest after the contest has begun. This is not a particularly controversial statement.
Personally, the change was good for me; we were going to rush to finish otherwise, and the background blocks being visible has no negative aesthetic impact on what we'd already built. That doesn't stop me from recognizing that it was completely unfair to everybody else.
You say that people should "suck it up and fix their maps". Why should they? Why should a creator who put in an incredible amount of time to make the map incredible under the contest conditions, be forced to put in more time to change what they've already done?
How about this: what about people who cannot work on their maps over the next week? You cannot say that they should have planned for the contingency, because they entered the contest under the terms that it would end on October 31. They planned their time out for it, and completed their map to the best of their ability under the rules they were told. Why should they be punished?
Yeah, I think this is a great update. Just terrible timing
Shy Guy...I didn't like my level before I don't like it now and yes you me and most of us have to remake everything, EVEN some minis belive it or not so yeah...to be honest what makes me more angry its not the work...its Chris..for playing with us and keep changing his mind about things.
Mihb I agree with you 100%, but...I guess he can't understand this, he has no idea how many hours of work took this darn levels...meh he doesn't even care.

I agree with MIHB completely. Seems a bit silly to add the update now, knowing there's a competitive competition he started going on. I feel sorry to the people who put loads of time and effort in there levels, with visions of winning those unique prizes, and now have to change it again because of the update, in the space of the upcoming week.
Ah well, doesn't effect me. Not part of the competition.. Just feel for the people who are, who's levels have been pretty messed up by the changes.
Anyways..

You seem to be implying that Chris did this intentionally, to troll everybody. Other than that, I can see what you mean.

It has nothing to do with whether or not Chris did it intentionally, and everything to do with the fact that if Chris were intentionally screwing with everybody, it would be hard to distinguish it from his normal behavior. Like it or not, he consistently screws over mapmakers with his updates, and doesn't even have the good sense to ask builders what they want.
How hard is it to start a thread and say "hey, I'm thinking of adding the background colors and changing the deadline back a week. What do you guys think of that?"

Before he released it, I mentioned to him how it should be released after the contest. He said he would prefer to release it before and give people time to fix. So it is not like he didn't know.
Granted, it is only upsetting to me in one way: I could have made an actual map I was proud of instead of a parody map like I did. But that is upsetting me in the way that "you should have updated this months ago" more than otherwise.

More like a confused 10 year old who doesn't know what habitually means...
Habitually - as in "someone who performs an action over and over again" as in "habit"
