Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Minimap Transparency

whenever I try to make a 100% opaque minimap it turns into 1% transparent which essentially means I can't disable minimap transparency, this is a major issue

Re: Minimap Transparency

bump, because there's no way to disable minimap transparency! is it an intentional regression so that people don't feel as bad when online EE closes?

Re: Minimap Transparency

It's only 1% you can barely see through it even if you tried. Does it really matter that much?

The thing is I don't want the minimap to be 1% transparent. I want the exact opposite — 0% transparent, which is 100% opaque.

Re: Minimap Transparency

Yes that's why you posted this, but you can't really look through it at 1% so it looks pretty much 100% opaque. It wouldn't really be a difference. I don't know why you would need it if you can already not look through it atm.

The point is the option I want (and was available before this bug) is not there! It doesn't allow every value! And it is a bug because it's a regression as before this bug it was possible to input 0% for an opaque map!

Analogy: A color picker that doesn't have every color.

If you have a color picker that has HEX #000000 to #FFFFFF but 1 of that (for example #019481) would be missing you could just pick something that looks like it. Same for having a 1% transparent map being almost exactly the same as a 0% transparent map.

Re: Minimap Transparency

Why don’t you turn off the minimap if you don’t want it.

You didn’t answer my question.

What do you want to do with it? It’s totally fine for me.

Is 1% not clear enough?

Re: Minimap Transparency

i am 95% certain that's a problem connected with saving settings system.

The guy who designed setting for map transparency is a weirdo. He made it so complicated (there are like 3 variables involved: percentage (1-100), percentage divided by 100% (0.01 - 1), flipped alpha (1 - alpha) or something like that)
So the guy who designed it thought it would be a good idea to use every single value for difference things (instead of having just 1 variable and work with that).

When i was making saving system i had to think about this really carefully, i made many mistakes and bugfixes, but maybe there are more like this.

Uhh you probably screenshot this at a frame when the vertical cursor was invisible, if I put the text box out of focus it becomes the exact opposite — 1% which is the exact opposite of what I want

I haven't touched that setting ever since it was implemented, I've always had it set to 0%.

Most likely I was able to set it to 0% before the saving system was modified, which is why I have no problem. Doesn't change the fact that this is a really silly bug report.

The thing is, anyone who sets map transparency cannot set it back which is terrible
