Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

[EEU] world shapes idea

bUHoV2.jpg

its simple becuase bying a world resizing it to a nice shape and then ccutting off a bunch of blocks ot make it in a shape is a loss of energy for EEU soo how about yu choose a shape adn resize it then for example the left top shape is a rectangle or square wiht a cut off area which you may not need at all would be nice if you dont hav eto pay for it right? cirkcled worlds coudl also be a nice thing if you want to fit the thme universe and make a roudn planet triangles becuase why not and an rotated square rotated 45 degrees on to the tbale of maths sayign how much blcoks each world shape has asumign X is the size you want to use for a square (example X is 100 then your world is 100*100 if you want a circkle wordl 100*100 you fill in for X 100 and then use matsh to calculate amoudn ot blocks)

maths

i was also thinkign of a max size of 1K*1K  and that the dtata limit would be big enough to save smooth if you decide to fill that ENTIRE world with NPC's portals, switches, signs ect and i was thinkoing of a formula for amoutn of blocks/10=energy price this seemed reasonable for 1K*1K whic his 100K energy and small sized worlds whihc seemed fine but huge worlds cfor exmaple will cost ~2 times a smuch which i do not like much

Triangle = No

How would you define two angles of the triangle? Only rectangular triangles? That's bad...

EDIT:

With cickle he means circle

Re: [EEU] world shapes idea

The main issue is not how to draw the objects, but the efficient collision detection.
It's easy to draw them, everyone knows (or at least can look up) the formulas to draw shapes, but the hardest thing to implement in games is physics. Collision detection more specifically. Everybody Edits has a simple grid Collision Detection. Even with it's simplicity, it still has a lot of glitches and bugs. So EEU should have something different if it wants to be able to do such shapes

I doubt collision detection is that difficult. I've done it myself before on three dimensional models, and it's not that hard as long as EE isn't made of spaghetti code. (Oh wait...)
Anyway, I also don't see how this would be an issue in the first place. If I'm understanding the suggestion correctly, this could already be done in the original EE, with no trouble.

Despite what people say, Different55 is the best mod.

Re: [EEU] world shapes idea

Just checking, you're suggesting weirdly shaped worlds not weirdly shaped blocks aren't you?
In which case collision detection isn't even related //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue (not that it would be that hard anyway)

The main question is whether this is really needed, and I'm not sure it is... The compound rectangular worlds are the only ones I'd even consider using, and even then very rarely...

worlds yes and im just thinking of a way to sav energy AND wokr by makign the shape and putting the black void block (or will EEU have a nice fill toll for that lukem?)

Basically Peace is too lazy to fill the world to get the shape he wants and he wants you to go through the hassle of implementing this instead.

Paying to use a fill option does seem a bit too much...
But like Anatoly said, a bot does seem like a pretty good way to go. It also comes with the added bonus of customising your parameters.
