That it's too early, it started even before Halloween, and that Pipec clearly rushed the topic just to be the host.

This obviously is not, and has never been an official event, but a community event to have fun. There's nothing for me to write.

However, one important intention of me being the host, is that, with other well-known members of the community, I had planned to make some sort of official structure for the next years' respective events. Allowing the event to improve in the future, with good hosts.

You are making a race game of "who creates the topic first" turning a nice event into a joke. It's 2 months before the Christmas, It's the 3rd month of Fall, what Secret Santa are you talking about? Can we get this in December when we are actually hyped for it?

oh, and for "Secret Santa 2015 - ~beginning of December" didn't you meant Secret Santa 2014?

If somebody hosts a real one in December, please add some actual flair to the OP. C'mon, this might be the last one ever! I'd also recommend this format:

• small/medium world only

• send formatted PM to signup. Include some personal questions/survey to help your secret santa build a world for you (i.e. do you like music, animals?)

• don't even disclose the signups list. I've learned some people prefer to stay entirely anonymous aside from the person they are gifting to.

Obviously it's up to the host to make these decisions. It doesn't have to be conventional (maybe it doesn't even have to involve world building???). Anyways happy hanukkah my goys. Shalom :O

This year's host was supposed to be Zoey2070, which would have been great, not only considering that she's a staff member, but she was really excited to be the one to manage this event, said excitement proving further good event management.

Suggestion: Replace Pipec with Zoey2070

Hmm can I quit this event (I joined without understanding the situation).
So, in my opinion, if you rush just because you want to be the host, secret santa will lose its meaning. It’s not a secret santa anymore but some poorly managed, rushed event and it might turn out some people making ‘trash’ or no effort worlds.

Anyways can I quit, if no then fine.

Alright I think it's time to put my foot down.

If the community desires it, I shall host this event at the proper time, as I am certain that a lot of people would rather have the host of the event be someone who genuinely cares about it. At around late-november or early-december, I'll make my own Secret Santa 2018 topic, and those who desire it can participate.

If there is no demand for it, I won't do it.
