There were two awkward minis (last in speed, final even with all effects, at least until you figure out the trick). I like how you can skip the dungeons (though it's kinda totally impractical), with the last mini made with everything in mind. The dungeons themselves going from low - med - high is a good touch to show "learning", and the last feels like a good review mini.
I don't care much about art. It didn't get in the way, and the minimap mountains and ruins have a good feel.
Both the ruins and the master are old, but are those really a major part of the level?

I was told by kaleb that this level is supposed to be "gameplay getting old", but this is no CTM2; I always felt like I was making more and more progress each run (once i figured out the switch gimmick, which actually stops it from getting old as you have to vary what you're doing just enough between runs it can feel extremely different), and it didn't really feel repetitive. I love pathing the most efficient path for something like this, though obviously if this was any harder than it is it'd probably start to feel a little too frustrating.
Art was just a few boxes, nothing really major; though it didn't get in the way, and the setting of the world fits.

A few minis were extremely annoying, and some unclear. Needing to backtrack from the control room to disable the incinerators was kinda annoying, though the second time there was far faster as I knew what to do.
So... why DID you use a retirement home as a front?
The concept really didn't influence gameplay (though at least you had one).
I feel like you should've disabled the minimap.
Theme wasn't an integral part of the level, but it was decently important for the story so I'll let it slide.

What? Judging my own world? Yes.
This world is mostly a romp, though there are some simple minis. Blue coins are all on the very annoying side that require paying too much attention to get.
The concept of going to old EE is fine, yet after a while that breaks down and you do... something, which doesn't match with the "old" theme.
If vision blockers existed, the world would look better. Though, seeing the other rooms is somewhat part of the inter-world hopping.

The area that has the vertical connectors is a little bit annoying with the fallback (there's a decent amount to redo) (especially if you want the blue, which forces you to do the second part twice), but not enough to ruin the excellent world.
Most of the vigettes have a way of tying the main gameplay to the overall plot - it shows that it's a story world, not purely about gameplay.
I love story levels; even though I was spoiled a bit of the plot (such as the main twist) before playing.

One of the traps requires really fast reactions to complete on your first try. I believe there should be a few checkpoints (or "respawn points" i guess) so that it doesn't take so long to get back after dying. The death limit also seemed really high - I only used 5 or 6 before I won.

This seems like what would've been a cool arcade-style world! Too bad you didn't finish. Or get anywhere close to done.
You shouldn't need signs to express an action; just use visible portals or make the art clear enough to know what to do.
I feel like the "getting old" thing is mainly only there to fit with the theme and doesn't really do much other than give an excuse for the 16 death limit.

I... didn't play this world, I couldn't figure out the end of the first mini. Too much fallback and it feels awkward.
Speccing someone else play, all the minis seem generic and don't tie into the gameplay at all.
The ingame art is completely awful. I can see what's supposed to be a block and what isn't, but... at least the minimap is good I guess. Protip: make gameplay before working on the minimap. It makes your world better.
Perhaps the story would explain how this ties into "old" (other than being a newspaper, which is old).

I didn't finish this world. The mini with the green key was extremely frustrating - maybe make the arrow floor only two tall instead of three?
The concept didn't really feel like it tied into the gameplay. It dictated how the minis were shaped, but not how they worked mechanically.
The world looks like a glitchy mess ingame (and not so on the minimap). I suppose that's to be expected, though; at least I could see where I was going, and it fits into the theme.
The gameboy certainly is old!

The invisible blocks and arrows at the beginning were... meh. I think they should be marked better. The minis were good although a little on the easy side; even the hard mode of the last minigame. There could also be an indication that coins are optional.
I'm not exactly sure how these relics cause you into needing to play a whole minigame to study them; it's not like this is a magic museum. Oh well. It works.
You could've had better seperators at the start. I know you want immersion, but there's ways to show an escalator that isn't using bgs that i might mistake as... a background. However, art is visible both ingame and on minimap, which feels good.

The timer is WAY too lenient. I finished with about half the time left, and I felt like I wasted a ton of time. It'd be better if there was a lower time limit but you didn't need all the coins - make it a bit of a challenge to figure out which ones are best to skip.
It's a timed coin hunt, except with the lenient timer it's more like a coin hunt. Also, why is there money randomly sitting around on clouds anyway?

Good concept, bad execution. You should make a system so that you can only get each effect once, and to actually require getting to the end with each effect (replace the 2 second poison).
The fact that you can get effects more than once just makes this super tedious.

There's this random invis portal in the slide. ...why?
The system could've been constructed in a way that doesn't allow cheating - by picking the placement of each individual person and having portals to link it. You can prevent "cheating" by only giving one life.
I love the silliness, though the minis aren't very engaging.

You can read the win NPC from inside the system.
You should use portal rotations to make it so that you don't have to jump/move in the system to hit the switches.
It'd be cool if you could make guesses before you've seen all the ingredients. Doing the mini 3 times is a little bit boring.
The green things on the stove in the second mini is a little weird and I keep dying to it.
It's hard to tell exactly what you intended with a lot of these, due to not being able to see more than 3 bits.

Why is there invisible stuff? By this point in the contest you should know that gameplay features being invisible for no reason is a bad idea.
High difficulty combined with a reset gimmick is... bad. I recommended it for end quote's world because it's easy, but this world is actually difficult to beat. In addition, there should be indications to tell the player that they need to remember who has the pokeman.
Art is very clearly made for minimap. Ingame is much more important.
World feels like a generic easy pf-styled world with an extra mystery gimmick added on to fit the theme.

This world isn't difficult. I had 2 non-forced deaths, out of the 4 you're allowed.
The forced deaths for coins doesn't really matter because you're GUARANTEED to die 4 (as once you get the last one you can die the 9th time) times for the coins - as such it's effectively the same as making the death limit 4.

Won with 18 deaths and 0 blues. Minis are cool but the one stunt that kept killing me is the one where you have to time pressing up (or down in the last mini) at almost perfect timing or you wont make it. also what do you have against god blocks
I'm aware you probably could've done something more interesting with the lives gimmick if you had more time. Don't build your world right before the deadline? When I made mine my teammates weren't helping so I went ahead and made it days in advance.

Once you get the hang of it it really isn't that bad. I think you should've lowered the starting 10k buffer to like 3k, to force doing the slot machine a bit to get started. As it is now, you can start with race and just never touch slot machine.
Poker was really confusing the first time, especially as I didn't see an open switch.
I love all the little fluff around the casino.

The readability of these intro signs hurts. This isn't a novel, you should have a clear and concise story that doesn't have any run-on sentences like the one in the third story sign. Actually, I think that one just fails at grammar.
This isn't a risk vs. reward scenario. This is just a "don't die" situation which appears in normal worlds too. risk vs. reward generally lets you choose between at least two options.
I died 9 times on the umbrella (and 0 times anywhere else). Slidey minis are fine, but I think you should've indicated that better so that people don't die 9 times there.

Interesting gimmick, though I don't think it's reasonable to actually game over on a decent (4+ blue) playthrough except on the boss which is where it's most frustrating to die because you literally can't do anything about it. I like the gimmick though - it makes it more interesting than just a "dodge whatever you can!" thing.
tbh, i think the boss would've been better if you didn't reset it on every death.
The green acid thing was... dumb (but really easy, so I'm not complaining), but everything else was pretty intuitive. (those oneways though)

I like this one! It actually had some difficulty to get god mode. I had to reset, like, 5 times.
The oven is scary, but it's not actually that hard to mess up... probably a good thing.
It's a little annoying doing the minis three times, though they're short so it hurts less than the other time.

Even though they're completely different, I found the 4 different animals a little tedious. Also purple was too easy i finished with a third the time left
The arrows and team doors scattered around kinda suck but I get why they're there. The invisible block in the tree (above the prot) is a little meh as well - it makes sense, but it'd be better as a solid block.
These aren't what I'd consider powerups; you don't get any more powerful.

the one-way pipes in pipehead's should have a better way of being marked. it's obvious they're one-way but it should tell you this by being different than normal pipes.

The real pyramid plunder had checkpoints, which makes the life system actually matter. As there's no checkpoints, the level is exactly the same both with or without the life system. Additional penalty for not changing the gimmick at all from the original.

Minis rely a lot on repetition. Some of them are hard to figure out how to do, as well - making it much easier to find the exploits to the minis. (two minis in the portal realm)
The gimmick of RoS was good because you wouldn't MISS any blues. In this, it's easy to accidentally collect it in one of your 20 attempts to beat the mini. This means you'll usually have max coins when you reach the end - which is around as hard as 0 in RoS.

The first room in the museum is honestly filler.. it's probably the 2nd weakest room, with the first being the mini room before starting the final mini.  I probably should have used a solid tile instead of invisible, but there's nothing past the elevator and nothing to cause a death at least.

I made the win room near the end and realize I should have marked the gate with a coin door or something.  Saw lots of people try to immediately leap over it.  It was a little more clear when I had the trophy there, but I later moved it into the A+ achievement box.  Sort of a mistake.

As for it not being a magic museum.. who knows??  It's not supposed to be you really, just a representation of you learning about stuff in the past.  I mean you do play as the PLANET, while learning about how the Moon formed.  I could have locked the player into a timed door system or something to mimix studying, but i thought providing some info and then a minigame would be more fun

I'm always a little lost when it comes to difficulty, because even with the easy minis, a few people have quit after a few losses.  I'll try to make hardmode options a little harder next time tho.

I thought about allowing guessing before the hints, but.. it actually would have required more machine space.  The actual sample isn't decided until each ingredient hint is given out, thanks to a tip from Thwink.  This cut down on space, but would require the player to find the hints first.. but then I thought, those who guessed blindly would likely lose anyway.  It seems pretty basic, but there are 8 total sandwhich combos, 8 pizzas, and 12 icecreams.. I think.  12 for each if you count the faulty ingredients that had to be cut for room issues, which remain as options to throw you off still, at least.  That said, unfortunately gameplay and art had to be trimmed for concept, which I really didn't want to do.. but maybe there's a way to compact the machine even more?  I dunno.  I'm not really familiar with this stuff so this was quite the task for me as it was.

I almost went with a stove, but it's meant to be a running faucet If you hold up, you can get a slight boost from the dripping water to jump over the dirty water.

If I remake this world in a larger world, I'll probably make the samples larger.  They remain partially covered up as the purple blocks hide the other possibilities.

So... why DID you use a retirement home as a front?

Sales dude in the underground offices mentions it, it's planned obsolescence and from another perspective it's self defense. Old person dies, you say it's a heart attack or some other organ failure and nobody looks twice. Nobody does autopsies on the elderly and nobody pays attention when a senile old man starts ranting about people disappearing. And it's planned obsolescence that let us start things like our liver subscription plan for heavy alcoholics. As many livers as you can drink through for a low flat rate.

It is kinda easy to miss with sign text being in the way, tho if you jump at the original spawn it takes you to the skip

Aaaalso, if you felt the world was on the easy side, there's also a hidden hardmode option in the story section, hinted by a sign in the win box.  For gold and god!

EDIT: A lot of people had trouble with the boss, tho last minute I added in backgrounds that reveal the nose portals, dunno if you played before or after the change

I played after - it was still a little hard to figure out exactly what to do.
I didn’t think this one was too easy; I ran out of lives on the boss, and the hard mode basically gives you one life as the first mini is really hard without 3 deaths. Also, yeah - I saw the skip on my third time

I took the criticism on Mystery Flavor and threw in some purple gates as obstacles in most of the repeatable minis (plus they're even shorter), tho had to drop the ones in the egg mini game because it was a headache and they actually made the mini easier (I guess I could have made them disappear each round instead?)  Also, you technically don't even need to beat them a single time- you can aim for red and get it over with, but that's one less edible cupcake for you!  And you need every single one for those elusive golden honey cupcakes

As with every round besides round 1, I keep finding myself short on space I would have liked to have a frosting minigame and maybe a candle one as well.. along with more space for the existing minis, but FOR SOME REASON I keep designing switch systems in these medium worlds which reeeally eats up on space.  I guess I just hope it makes the world more interesting than a standard platforming one?

Anyway, oof, my opponent, I kinda don't know how the standard player (or even experienced ones) are supposed to be able to figure this one out.  You need hint signs.. in order to each the hint signs??  Following your tips I made it even less far so idk.

The three hint signs are all standard illusion-style puzzles - not any harder than rotcil illusions (one of my fav campaign worlds, but only if you don't cheat and look up the solutions).
Using the info from those three hint signs, you can complete the puzzle for the trophy. It's not really doable without the hint signs, which is good, as you should need to read them and figure out what they mean (which, if you read the first sign, it tells you that you need to find the hint signs to pass the bridge). If the final puzzle was to be reasonably completable without a hint sign I probably would've deducted a load of points off gameplay/creativity as I'd be able to skip the gimmick of the world.

Even though they're completely different, I found the 4 different animals a little tedious. Also purple was too easy i finished with a third the time left
The arrows and team doors scattered around kinda suck but I get why they're there. The invisible block in the tree (above the prot) is a little meh as well - it makes sense, but it'd be better as a solid block.
These aren't what I'd consider powerups; you don't get any more powerful.
Total - 15/30

I wanted to squeeze in power-ups per animal but with already a short journey for each, there wouldn't have been much time before acquiring to feel like a proper power-up.. anyway, they're not quite power-ups but powers instead.  With the squirrel, you can fly through the sky, as the frog, swim through the lake.. it's sorta like getting a different power-up that over-rides the previous power.  Like how in Mario you get the fire flower and can throw fire balls that can melt ice, but then get the hammer suit that can break bricks, but you lose the fire power.

Purple was honestly rushed, and was originally 20 seconds but I think I lowered it to 18.  I was often able to finish with about 15 so I thought a few more seconds more would be fair.
