Switch Spikes

Spikes that activate/deactivate based on switch/ global switch id disabled or enabled.

That's kinda clunky.  And even clunkier if you have floating spikes.

Switch spikes and timed retractable spikes would be a neat feature I think.

Clunky as in, takes twice as much space on the ground, or up to 5 times more space if in the air, and even then the blocks would be in the way, rather than be pass-throughable.

Maybe instead of spikes that simply deactivate, maybe they could "retract" or something, or look like the spikes just return into the block they're attached to?

I still think doing portals would be more versatile (also check related topic 1), but I know it's easier to make art for spikes.
