henlo i made a game about space

its an abandoned project that i am now rewriting from scratch
im sharing this cause this is the last working build and im not going to update/fix/whatever this project anymore so i thought i'd let people see and criticize it instead of leaving it on my harddrive for years until it gets deleted

unzip the folder and you should be good to go
then run the .exe inside
yes i know you're all being skeptical about this kind of things
if you want to check whether the .exe is trustworthy then the most i can suggest is using virustotal.com or a similar website or antivirus software or even decompile the .exe (if thats possible)
(but if you decompiled the exe dont steal the **** code!!!1)

why am i rewriting this from scratch:
>the coding is ****
>many things are poorly implemented and could be implemented in a better way
>ive changed my mind on a bunch of design stuff
>i want to implement stuff that is impossible to do with current implementation of features that are in the game, its easier to redo everything than fix the poorly made stuff

about the game:
when you start the game it might freeze on the "Unity" startup screen (at least it does for me), i alt tab out and back into the game and that usually fixes it
(idk how to fix it blame unity lol)
EDIT: running the game in windowed mode doesnt cause freezes
W and S to thrust forward/backward
A and D to turn (you can switch to mouse aiming in the settings)
space to shoot (no, you cant shoot with mouse buttons even with mouse aim turned on)
M for the map (or you can click the button next to radar)
1 and 2 to switch weapons
enemies drop crates that upgrade your max HP, damage and number of barrels on the weapon (the upgrades are applied to the current weapon selected, if upgrade is impossible then the crate is just wasted)
the red dots on the map are "mob spawners" or smth like that
the "force field" on your spawn station and on the outpost repairs your ship

thats all i think
the game was inspired by astro flux

idk i started around october 2016 and been procrastinating working on it at random periods until uni kicked in, which is september 2017, then i mostly abandoned the thing
tried working on it in february 2018 a bit more but not much

by the way since the new project will be basically recoding of this, im open to suggestions/constructive criticism :D:D:D:D

wow cool, it Looks like this game where you have you upgrade your station and ship and destroy the sun.
