Well, yeah, the staff already "waste" time creating stuff for this game.

Just so you could save a single block space free for each portal.

Its easier to work with in worlds. Portals can accidentally be jumped into.

Also if you really need a confirmation make something like this:

                       What will you do with the flare gun?
             Shoot                                                        Keep for
                                                                                later
           You sure?                                                  You sure?
         
         You shot the flare gun                                 You kept the flare gun
                                                                                for later

That would not be user-friendly. You can already recreate that with the tools we already have. I think its best to give players good basic items to use, then see where it goes from there.

Come on, i dont know why you don't want it. Yes, you can rebuild it with portals and signs.
But this block is so easier to use.
2cpFmwZ.png - uses 2x6 space, unconfortable.
3KKWXzB.png - uses 2x2 space, conforable

not sure if it was said before but how about using a portal target ID instead of coordinates for the destination point

This block is genius, and I've wanted some variant of it for some time. It is true that this can be done by just making it where you jump into a portal, but that has a LOT of issues.
Everything has to be a certain amount of space, accidentally going into the portal, limiting not ONLY technical design but also visual design, and so on.
This is clean, and, more importantly, it has more of a use that the "jump to enter" solution we have today because this just uses a coordinate instead of two portals. This puts two different, and good, suggestions into one.

And if people really do, for some reason, think it simplifies things too much, just make it where you buy them like world portals, so they are convenient when needed but not the easiest things to get.
