Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

EE needs Achievements desparately.
It's clear that the direction of where EE is heading is a game-y direction. Before it was simply world building, a sandbox tool. Now it's a collectathon completionist game with... no satisfying reward.
Introducing AP.
A system that shows how prevalent a player is. Ranging from "Complete # campaigns" to "It's over 9000!" to "Collect # smilies" to "Gain # likes" to "Win # contests" to "Log in # times in a row", these achievements build up points, or your AP level. This number is next to your name, and the higher it is the more achievements you've done.
Exclusive rewards such as unique world sizes, unique smilies, auras, features, faster Energy respawn are only available to players that climb achievement levels.
Before this happens, please finish Steam
Woah, nice idea idea!

I like the mystery behind some of the hidden game mechanics such as magic, and I feel like this would kind of ruin that.

While hidden achievements would improve that, I feel like finding an easter egg on my own is more satisfying than the game telling me "Hey, look! You found the secret we hid!"

Okay how about:
Achievements grant points, and a player's total AP (Achievement Points) are only visible on their profile.
There is an option to hide AP so others don't see.

I've noticed that a lot of people seem to agree with this. Does anybody care to explain a bit more?

Well, I personally am a bit on both ends of the spectrum, via pro leveling system and not.
Most EE players like the way the game was originally in the Benjaminson's and RPGMaster's eras, most thought that the level system would corrupt EE and eventually turn it into an RPG based game, which the community did not like, so countless times they have reacted negatively whenever any type of proposal regarding levelling up systems was brought up. I personally think that change is futile for things to evolve and that being said I think a feature such as a leveling system would be a nice addition/revival the game needs, this doesn't necessarily mean that EE is going to go down a path of RPG based games, bt gives it the extra passion for players to play the game more with the incentive to level up and get better at the game while completing achievements, maybe EE can instead of going down the RPG path, but go towards the path the game Minecraft took, I know most of you (including me) are thinking that EE taking that path would be very bad, BUT what Minecraft has done that EE has not yet achieved was an ultimate sandbox gameplay, this meaning that from there freedom they are able to unlock things as well as create their own types of RPGs that would transcend the current RPG levels attempted to be made here in EE. And I am not saying EEs gameplay will change drastically to be more like Minecraft, which the gameplay should stay the same as it currently is, so yes that is well a reason and my reason hahaha.
