Experimental Anon Game (signups)

Hey, heynk was rolling around an idea about a forum game with anon so I thought I'd try and reinvent the wheel that we looked at a long time ago.

The game will be played by an even number of players. I will randomly pair usernames and post the pairings.

Then, I'll create an anon topic. The goal of each group is to find out which anon user is their partner without revealing their own identity.

The single command is !guess <anon username> <forum username>. Each user gets one guess each 24h period. I resolve guesses at the turn of each day. To win, both users of a pair must "guess" the the other username. To make things interesting, the command can also be used to throttle competition. i.e., if someone guesses your anon name correctly you and yer partner lose.

Revision: false guesses, answered at the end of the day, will penalize the guesser by having their identity randomly hinted at. i.e., if you guess userA is userB, then I might say your username is NOT userC-F. Hopefully this prevents excessive random guessing. This rule is subject to change if I learn math.

Revision: the current game is not to be discussed anywhere except the game thread. Clearly this is to prevent cheating in the form of "hey what's your name my name is" which negates the purpose of the game

The game will last a minimum of five days until at least one pair wins.

so, for example:
userA is paired with userB. They are anonA and anonB. userA will try to make posts they know anonB would recognize but others would not.

ideally, userA !guesses anonB userB, and userB !guesses anonA userA. At this point, because they are correct userC cannot make them lose by guessing the correct match.

if userC thought they were wrong, userC could still guess anonA was someone else.

anyone up for trying this? I guess the minimum is four adventurous souls. I'll try not to make this up as I go. Questions would be good, then.

So basically you are told who your team mate is and you must guess who is your team mate to win as well as guessing who other users are to make them lose? Sure, sign me up.

I added a revision that should hopefully prevent everyone from voting randomly. Reducing this game to chance wouldn't be so fun. How do we feel about that change?

also, feel free to talk strategy I guess. I imagine talking funny is a must.
