Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

My CPU ( LGA775 socket Intel Q8200 ) is ALWAYS above 50 degrees celcius.
I have tried replacing the thermal paste and buying a new cooler.
Should I move to a liquid cooler?
It's not overclocked.

you just need nitrogen
Dust.
Dust in your pc is clogging up the fans etc. I clean my pc from time to time to remove all the dust. (You will be surprised how much dust you will find in your machine.)
My CPU is hovering on about 30 degrees atm. So 50 is indeed a bit warm.
Edit: Since you already bough some new stuff. Your air flow in the case may be messed up.

If you've tried EVERYTHING you could do, my bet is that the CPU is just too old.
Btw, the max temperature that CPU can bear is 71.4C (https://ark.intel.com/products/36547/In … 33-MHz-FSB), so I guess 50C won't kill your CPU in any way.

Q8200 is an old quad core, know to be hot just like the Q6600. 50C isn't the end of the world btw, just a tad hot perhaps, but not near the 95c damage threshold. It's a 95W TDP so ye it just uses lots of energy which means it becomes hot. Upgrade, or live with the heat.
No u.
