Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I voted for Hillary Clinton (early voting).
Voting Third Party is stupid and historically has not worked.

And with attitudes like this, that's definitely going to change.

Now isn't the time to make a political statement. I'm voting Clinton to protect myself and my friends. I'm playing it safe. There's too much at stake to waste your vote on a third party candidate. I agree, two-party systems suck and it's quite ridiculous but now is not the time to make a statement.

the two party system is not going to be changed by voting third party. voting third party is the equivalent of just staying home. if you want change, be politically active on the local level to push for alternative voting systems, building from the ground up with the very real possibility of eventually becoming constitutional. you can't jump straight from a two party first past the post system by voting third party. voting third party is stupid and doesn't work.

Not to mention that two parties are an intended consequence of the way the system was designed. Duverger's law discourages the formation of extremist parties, at least in theory.

I'm not an US citizen so i can't vote, but i would have voted Hillary simply because the Republican candidate is a total dingus.

The United States is the only real example of that. Canada and the UK have a bunch of parties under a very similar system.

Seriously why do any of you bother with arguments like this? They're both terrible, you can both say "You really want a (racist/psychopath/child molester/warmonger/literally anything you can think of because they're both insane choices) as president?"

This election is the best example of why the horseshoe theory argument is terrible. No, they are not equally terrible. Trump is objectively worse than Hillary Clinton on all counts: corruption, criminality, stupidity, honesty, and on and on. It's hard to imagine how the man could be any worse than he is and still somehow people think that he's a legitimate choice for president. Nearly every single day for the past year and a half a new Trump controversy popped up; how does the email controversy compare in any way shape or form?
Both candidates are war hawks, but at least Clinton knows what she's doing. Trump is completely ignorant on foreign affairs and hasn't the interest or attention span to educate himself. Is that the man you want as the leader of the free world?

the 'horseshoe theory' is terrible, and that argument is terrible, but i'm pretty sure that argument isn't actually what the 'horseshoe theory' is (though perhaps they are equally terrible...)

eh, probably. instead I should have said "this is the best example of why the 'both-sides-are-the-same' argument is terrible"

Oh but Hillary has never been accused as a child molester.
