Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

New artists

I was in one of my worlds, and ITSMEANDERSONLOL had just critiquing it, and he said "You don't see very many new artist in EE these days" he didn't know I've played since late 2012-ish. But that did leave me a question: Have you seen any new people who can amaze you with their skills?

I've found that the user Gluier has been getting really good at art lately. But here is my question: Have you seen any new artists in EE?

Re: New artists

Define "New"?

I left beginning of 2012, and when I returned, there were about 5 new "artists" names that I didn't know of (or didn't know well) when I returned in 2015.

Re: New artists

It seems it takes people about a year to see past making stairs and hookjumgs and pixel art, so by then they aren't exactly new. There are exceptions, of course, but for the most part, I find that that is true.

I think when he said 'new artists' he meant artists that aren't like... artists we know of.
I think he mean different artists we never heard of.

Re: New artists

Yes those people exist. You obviously can't know all the artists out there //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

I don't know any specific people, but they definitely exist.

Re: New artists

It could be some underground artists that are being recognized, or it could be newer members learning that stairs and hookjumps are not required to make a good level.

Oh you're Yandax? :d

When I meant new artists, I meant players that were developing art that I think fits in professional criteria that I have never seen before. There are rarely any new players that follow my criteria these days.

Yeah, I have no idea why I named my forum self Sirzachthewarrior. Ontopic: Ah, that stuff up there makes sense.

Dazz takes a picture and copy it in a level, that's more like "copying". Sure It's astonishing, but the term of "artist" is a large term, there's many type of
art EE, which makes this game unique in it's genre.

the only ee player i would classify as an "artist" is dazz

Thank you Muftwin :3 but no, my little tribute shows there were and are many great, talented users, there could be even more, no doubt but unfortunately art these days is extremely underappreciated, therfore one by one are leaving and I don't blame them.

Actually, each and every level I made was from my imagination or from my memory or a mix of both about things that are around us, I have never used a photo to copy/inspire anything originally made by someone else at all, because I knew it's not the same deal. That's why you will never find anything similar on internet, IRL or EE with my levels and that's why the quality of my levels is different from year to year, I had to learn step by step to draw while almost everytime I made a new level, I used a slightly different approach or style.

Re: New artists

The problem is: art is subjective.
What you consider art may be something else for me and vice versa. I think the biggest example of this (IRL) is Fountain, by Duchamp.
So yes, you can see artists in EE nowadays, if you see them from a different point of view.
Also, not all art is meant to be beautiful.

Like those splashes of paint on a canvas. That is nothing to me and it can sell for $9999999
