Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Since Everybody Edits is about the community, should it be open source, so that people can change the code base and fix bugs and have it reflected in another version?
Someone could use a centralized system like GitHub, and have the moderators as collaborators so that not anyone can just push whatever code they want to in there.
Then again, someone could just fork EE and create a new version somewhere else, but then again, aren't we just reverse engineering it to make bots and extract block images anyway?

Eh.

I believe not. Botting community can be good and positive, but can also be extremely destructive to the game.
EE's record has been clean, but some games were screwed all over by their own botting community. It can be as destructive as DDoSing the entire server to crash (like Starbound's DDos Gun, to give an example).
Having one botter to kill EE for good is unlikely, but still very possible.

it wouldn't really be any easier to DDOS having the source, but there would probably be alot of remakes which are annoying

Your logic is flawed.
Just because people CAN decompile the game doesn't mean we are ok with it.
I have never thought of programming for reputation and honor. What I have in my heart must come out. That is the reason why I code.

Then obfuscate it if you don't like that people decompile the game.
Bot's will die when there isn't possibilitys to decompile and look what's new.
Tikens world downloader/uploader will die, so will my minimap die too because we can't grab the colors or images.

Now that's taking this too far. We are OK with things as they are right now.

As my country law:
You are able to decompile everything which you have permission to access(e.g. while server doesn't deny my connection), without the consent of the author.
However you are not able to post it, without the consent of the author
While i translate the code into c# from another language in this case actionscrpit. I didn't redistributed the original code.
So I "hack" ee legally
Everybody edits, but some edit more than others

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding of my post, I now understand what a swf file is and how they are used in order to make the game work. I suppose decompiling the swf file would in turn release or otherwise allow the player to get access to the code, in which a swf file is essentially a pre-packaged compressed source code binary.
