People are saying PlayerIO had a massive DDoS attack.  That's what is causing the downtime.  They are working on it.

I guess PlayerIO got their stuff together.  EE is working properly for now.  If you are experiencing the issue still, clear your cache and history.

i had a minor issue about 2 weeks ago which when i logged in it said "Email not registered" it was the EXACT email but it couldnt work.
and luckily there was more computer in home so i could still play. then it was fixed magicly!

EE won't work for me. It's most likely a chrome problem. It only works when I am using pepperflash. It works in IE but I don't like IE.
