I live in Taiwan. Have you heard about anything about Taiwan?

Taiwan is not a part of china (PRC), Its name is Republic of China (ROC). See the history if you want know more about things between PRC and ROC.

Eurasian.

Because the concept of Europe being a continent makes no sense geographically, and likely only exists due to Eurocentrism, and historically Europeans thinking that they are somehow better (or at least different) than the rest of the world.

I know Taiwan is an island off the mainland of China, and it's capital is Taipei, and the flag is red and blue with a sun sun/star (not sure which). That's all though.

Russia is in both Europe and Asia, which are separated more for cultural reasons. Russia is mainly in Asia, but is in Europe as well (in a cultural aspect too).

European is a term coined by American's, I have never heard a "European" say European without making context to North America. You probably should make your own topic instead of derailing someone else's?

China isn't communist it has just pretended to be pretty much since Mao died. Taiwan is a very beautiful island.

If I make my own topic, it will start a chain of similar topics... no one wants that. Nothing stops you from discussing about China/Taiwan anyway so I don't find it a big deal.

Ooh, Taiwan is cool. Here's what I know about Taiwan.

The Taiwan government was originally the Chinese government. But after the revolution, the original government of China retreated to Taiwan and a new government was established in China. As a result, the Taiwan government believes that they are still the rightful government of China. China, on the other hand, believes they are the rightful government of Taiwan. So, as I understand it, both countries think they are China, and the other government is illegitimate.

Things get even MORE complicated in the United Nations. Because at first the United Nations didn't recognize the new government of China. And Taiwan, for a long time, remained on the United Nations Security Council as "China". But then, Russia went on strike, and boom, Taiwan was kicked out of the UN, and the new China was allowed on.

So, today, Taiwan is not recognized by the United Nations as its own country and isn't allowed membership, because it would make China mad.

So yeah. It's kinda stupid when you think about it, cause they're obviously two separate countries at this point. But that's politics for you.
