At the very beginning it's unfair. Someone who goes at the top starts losing velocity immediately and then slams into the wall. Anyone on the very bottom starts immediately speeding up in arrows.

well, the win area isn't very rewarding, and also if you observe, there is one place you can fall in and cheat the system. the long twist thing you have at the beginning is also very confusing.
