Hey BEE! If this thread still "works"...
Remember some time ago (page 8-10 or something around there) when I asked for help making the temple in my Hidden Temple level? Well, I finished it (Here's the topic), but I still think the ground and the caves and maybe the gems in the second cave look kinda plain. I tried shading the ground/caves, but I made it ugglier, so I sticked to what it looked before. As for the gems, I didn't know how to shade them because they are buried in the ground.

So, like I said before, if this still "works", could you give me feedback/tips on how to make it look nicer and less plain?

I put together a palette and blocks png:

As well as a Photoshop PSD file with the palette, blocks, and level sizes: here

I am mainly using it to build levels in photoshop and import them with EE-Artist.

The shape is OK, but I think the color for the hat, the hand and maybe his left arm (too lazy to make it after making the head and hat) may need some help.

I honestly think checkerboard is ok to use because I use it alot and it comes out ok. Sometimes I have to sort of spread the blocks out if the colours aren't similar enough like in my (heaven)clouds in Pierce The Heavens:

thanks, this was reaaally good, but i'd like to have backround palettes (only backround). I'm going to make a music level and I'm going to make art on the back.:P
