For me the useless:
1: Cold and hot vent backgrounds - Cold is more useless than hot.
2: Map Activation Block - Only use is map item.
3: Fire - Cool but only one rotation.

For me the useful:
1: Portals - Great for anything.
2: Spike - Easy kill and great for switch systems.
3: Purple Switch - Without them there woudn't be switch systems.

In theory, every block that is not a 1 way, or a half block, and isn't grey basic, are all useless, since they're all just reskins of the same single block.

In practice, every block is useful, whether you like it or not, it can be used in many different situations and for many different things, what we need is not block removal but more blocks/color options or block texture like Sensei1 already suggested.
