Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

you've posted smileys the last three times. I don't see why you'd need one.

at least you're forward about it. A selection of folk are treating this as a place to dump random crap with no attempt at thought. I don't appreciate that.

This may be quite the Damascene epiphany unfolding before us. You are posting for the benefit of others... but in actuality you don't want them to succeed. Wouldn't it ameliorate your situation if you simply didn't post? Then you wouldn't be aiding others, resolving that regrettable cognitive dissonance you've been encumbered with.

I say this because your alternative is to help others for two reasons. Maybe out of the goodness of your heart. Or perhaps the more selfish goal of realizing that if the group discovers the rule, you get another chance.

However, your posts aren't truly achieving either goal that you might've chosen to adopt. Perhaps it would be good to decide.

Yeah in hindsight that wasn't entirely necessary. Perhaps ironically, I don't know why I did that.

Re: The Secret Rule (2)

It just occurred to me that we learn true "Complex" sentence structure in English class. Something about dependdent clauses. So while that's not total fiction, it would still be hard to do.

Ah, so from what I'm understanding so far, the rule has nothing to do with phrases that aren't counted as words. I wonder what else there could be to gather from this.

If it helps, I don't know what you mean. So, we could gather that if I can't connect what I'm doing with what you're saying, there's probably considerable disconnect.

And earlier I tried to tell you guys that the merriam webster thing was completely unrelated. As you probably can tell by now, it was not irrelevant.

I thought you were allowed to double post if the 2nd post was guessing the rule?

well crap you're right.

uhm, the guess was "The post must have an improperly spelled word" and it was incorrect.

Quotes should be ignored. I guess bobithan/towwl left that open as a possibility. But generally I ignore quotes when determining rule compliance.

Yeah. Generally it's pretty obvious when I've been through. If not, you can probably assume that if I haven't logged in for eight hours, I most likely have not updated this topic during that span.

Re: The Secret Rule (2)

to recap: this rule requires knowledge of a dictionary. Especially for esoteric terms.

This rule can be indeterminate. Sometimes the rule can be both followed and broken.

This consideration might be particularly useful for some poets

I'm aware you two are different people. I can't help but notice this exchange:

Minam: What dictionary is it?

Minimania: it's the Merriam Webster.

Minam: Maybe I'll google dictionaries

??? Somehow we skipped the middle line? idk
